[[LivingPolyhedron talking shapes]]) who're essentially the [[AnthropomorphicPersonification Anthropomorphic Personifications]] of the many character traits everyday people have. Every individual Mr. Man and Little Miss has a distinct emotion, personality trait, or other such characteristic that defines their entire being, and are named after that characteristic (Mr.have a surname to reflect it (e.g. Mr. Forgetful, Little Miss Trouble, Mr. Wrong, Little Miss Wise, etc.). ).

Each of the original books stars one of the characters, who has a brief adventure revolving around whatever their characteristic is; the adventures of those defined by "positive" ones (e.g. Mr. Happy, Little Miss Neat, Mr. Good, Little Miss Fun, etc.) often show the title character trait. using it to help others, while the adventures of those defined by "negative" ones (e.g. Mr. Muddle, Little Miss Naughty, Mr. Snooty, Little Miss Bossy, etc.) often involve an AesopEnforcer teaching the character how to be a better person.
