** Pokémon are technically one species from a biological standpoint, of course. Skitty and Wailord can breed and produce fertile offspring, and as such are technically no more distantly related than a chihuahua and a grey wolf. However, according to the definition of "species" in the Pokédex, female and male Nidorans are different species.

* ''FinalFantasyVI'', Terra is the daughter of [[{{Woolseyism}} Madonna]]/Madeline, a human girl, and Maduin, a satyr/Gigas Esper. She eventually gains the ability to turn into an Esper-like humanoid herself.

** The Bird Clan seems to love the species so much, that, by the time of ''Breath of Fire III'', the entire clan have essentially lost their wings, becoming boring old humans. Making the hero and heroine of every ''Breath of Fire'' game Ryu of the Dragon Clan and Nina of the Bird Clan doesn't help matters either.

* ''FireEmblem: Blazing Sword'', [[spoiler: Ninian the ice dragon]] is a possible mate for the human hero Eliwood.
** Don't forget [[spoiler:Nergal and Aenir, the couple that spawned Ninian.]]
** InterspeciesRomance between Beorcs(HumansByAnyOtherName) and Laguz(humans who can [[{{Animorphism}} shapeshift into animals]]) is all over the place in ''Path of Radiance'' and ''Radiant Dawn''. In fact, some of these romances are either directly or indirectly responsible for most, if not all of the events in the two games. Though in this its somewhat {{Justified}} as [[spoiler: Beorc and Laguz share a common ancestry.]]

** And in the ''Series/SonicTheHedgehog'' continuity, Sonic's girlfriend is half chipmunk, half squirrel. In the ''[[ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehog comics]]'', he seems to have built an UnwantedHarem including other animal characters. In both the Series/SonicTheHedgehog cartoon and the Archie Comics, he also competed with Antoine (coyote) for Sally's affections -- in the comics, this stopped after Antoine became an OfficialCouple with Bunnie Rabbot (HollywoodCyborg rabbit), who first showed a brief hint of having a thing for the [[CheeseEatingSurrenderMonkeys cowardly pseudo-French coyote]] in one episode of the cartoon. And in both canons, Bunnie's attitude towards Sonic, particularly before hooking up with Antoine, could be taken as flirtatious, what with her frequent reference to him as "sugah hog". Or the fact that, at one point in her introduction in the comics, she actually playfully pokes Sonic in the nose, tells him he's cute, and asks him his name.

** Also, after completing a certain quest line on the krogan homeworld EDI will inform you that "We have recieved several breeding requests for Grunt... And one for Shepard."

** In [=ME2=], the ships scientist Mordin talks a lot about interspecies sex. He even [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAP92rvm1hQ gives you]] TheTalk of the... Biological implications of such romance. He notes that chafing will result and recommends you not to * cough* ... Ingest.

*** And one time you visit him, he tells you he's currently bussy with dealing with an outbreak of a sexually transmitted disease, that is only present in varren. "[[ButYouScrewOneGoat Implications unpleasant.]]"

*** The same asari bartender also counts off "Turian, Elcor, [[StarfishAliens Hanar]]" as her former lovers, and tops it off by saying "even had a pureblood daughter." (See below)

*** And to think Krystal was [[Retcon retconned]] into a vixen as to allow Shipping with Fox; in the original ''Dinosaur Planet'' game, cancelled SpiritualPredecessor of ''Star Fox Adventures'' she was...a [[Irony cat]].

* ''VideoGame/StarFox 64'' has Kat, which seems to have a thing for Falco (can you guess their race?). However, later romances in the series all stick to same species, as far as a blue vixen and a normal colored fox can be of the same species. According to one of ''Command''s endings, no problemo.

*** The second game continues the tradition. In fact, more aliens than humans are romanceable in [[MassEffect2 ME2.]] [[spoiler:The confirmed interspecies liaisons are newcomer [[EstrogenBrigadeBait Thane]] and [[CowboyCop Garrus]] for female Shepard, and [[WrenchWench Tali]] for male Shepard, the two latter being [[FanPreferredCouple fan favorites]] returning from the first game.]]

*** There's even an asari option in the sequel with [[spoiler:Morinth. For all of [[OutWithABang six seconds]]. [[WhatAnIdiot You were warned]], after all. Less fatally, there's also Samara. Almost.]]

** It's not just asari, either. Humans and quarians also seem fairly popular even with races like the turians. And Mordin mentions in passing that he's gotten a surprising number of passes from other species... But then he's [[CrazyAwesome Mordin]] so that may not count.

** Yeoman Chambers also makes no secret of her attraction to many alien species.

* The implied pairing in ''{{Klonoa}}'' is between [[TheHero Klonoa]] (cat-rabbit looking creature) and his friend [[CuteClumsyGirl Lolo]] (a humanoid girl with a cat tail.)

* AgarestSenki has five different human/non-human matchups across the four generations, and the fifth generation can choose one of the girls not chosen in a past generation. As said romances consist of a Syrium (an elf-like race), a neocollom ([[{{Yokai}} kitsune]]) with god's blood on her mother's side of the family, two elven hybrid sisters (half High Elf, half Dark Elf), and a Featherfolk (angel-like WingedHumanoid), this isn't as improbable as it may sound. There's also teasings of a homosexual version; the hermaphroditic god Deeth flirts with Dyshana in female form and gets hit on by Thoma after she mentions she should have shown up in male form. Both Dyshana and Thoma are human.
* ''MassEffect'', being a work of the 2010's and being aimed at a mature audience has a lot of this:

* ''HatofulBoyfriend'' is a Dating Sim like many others where your character tries to romance cute guys. Only this time, replace "cute guys" with "photo-realistic pigeons".

* [[KingdomHearts Riku/Mickey]] SlashFic, the ultimate "AAARGH! My childhood!" moment...
** ''KingdomHearts'' deserves special mention here in any case, if only for the sake of the numerous Disney Animals who appear in-game, including Sora's various transformations. It's almost impossible to traverse the fandom without coming across something childhood-killing, even without looking on the kink meme.
*** Even worse, of course, came in ''KingdomHearts II'' where the Pride from ''TheLionKing'' actually ''asked'' Sora to take over as king after he showed up. Thankfully, it was vetoed by Rafiki before they had to make a few explanations.

** It's also sort of hinted in ''SonicRush'' that Sonic and Blaze the Cat may have a thing for each other. Both are also capable of going into a Super Form.

* Princess Elise, the ''human'' princess of a FantasyCounterpartCulture version of Italy had a one-sided romance with Sonic throughout ''SonicTheHedgehog2006''.

* ''TalesOfRebirth'' has a gajuma(beastmen) princess loves a huma(human) general seems one-sided [[spoiler: until she dies at the end and he realizes that he loves her too, giving it a BittersweetEnding.]]
* ''TalesOfSymphonia'' gives us several pairings between humans and elves. Pairings between angels and humans [[spoiler: do not count because angels were just humans and half-elves with their bodies modified to resemble that of what people believed angels to look like.]]

* Ambiguous on whether or not it's truly interspecies, but in the ending of ''GoldenSun: The Lost Age'', a couple of Mars Clan girls (scaly draconic AmazingTechnicolorPopulation) seem romantically interested in Felix, not to mention his ShipTease moments with Karst. In ''GoldenSunDarkDawn'' there's some ambiguous ShipTease between [[PettingZooPeople beastgirl]] Sveta and SilentProtagonist Matthew (and also some subtext between Sveta and [[LesYay Karis]]). This is to say nothing of ''GoldenSun'''s notorious {{Shipping}} fandom, who will readily pair up characters and sometimes even [[CargoShip inanimate objects]] that have [[ShipsThatPassInTheNight very little interaction]], [[FoeYay purely antagonistic interaction]], or [[CrackPairing none at all]].

* In ''TheElderScrolls III: Morrowind'' and ''IV: Oblivion'', there exists a play called The Lusty Argonian Maid where an Imperial (normal human) and an Argonian (lizard person) were about to... get it on.

* ''ElvenRelations'' allows you to...[[DoubleEntendre have relations with an elf]] in one romance path. In the sequel, there's one elven love interest...and two mermaids to have liaisons with.

* At the ending of the first ''ShiningForce'' game, it is implied that Mae has a thing for the human player character. Mae is a centaur.

* ''EarthwormJim'', whose name speaks for itself, has a huge crush on Princess What's-Her-Name, who is a humanoid insect. On the other hand, if [[ItMakesSenseInContext they're really all cows]] then this trope is averted.

* ''FinalFantasyVII'', Aerith, [[LastOfTheirKind the last Cetra]], is the daughter of a human scientist named Gast, and a Cetra woman named Ifalna. Of course, the Ancients are almost entirely human themselves, so there's really not much of an issue here, until [[MadScientist Hojo]] comes along and tries to [[{{Squick}} mate Aerith]] [[YourMileageMayVary with Red XIII]], a huge talking wolf/lion that is another [[LastOfTheirKind Last Of His Kind]]. There's no indication that Hojo's idea would have actually ''worked'', though. According to the Compilation, there ''was'' at least one more, female, member of Red XIII's race, who had been his mate before he was captured by Shinra.

* ''ArTonelico'': a part-RPG, part-dating sim whose dating sim aspects revolve entirely around relationships between humans and Reyvateils - an all-female race of magical girls whose ancestors were artificial intelligences created from scratch using alchemy. You can also date said at least one of said ancestors, who's immortal and still around. Oh, and the fact that Reyvateils are basically a slave race on at least one continent adds to the squick.

** TEC (a computer) is crushing on Peach (human). On a slightly squickier note, many, MANY fans are attracted to Vivian, who is some kind of shadow monster. And may or may not be a cross-dresser, depending on the version. In Japan and Europe, he is a cross-dressing {{Bishonen}} boy. ([[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn1fHGRychI Spain disagrees.]]) In America, she is a full-fledged girl.
