In Hollywood's long and illustrious career, we've seen many different kinds of films throughout the generations. Some films [[SugarWiki/SoCoolItsAwesome have become all-time classics that hold up to this day in many people's eyes and minds and will likely continue to be hailed as great movies from here until the end of time]]. Some are [[SoOkayItsAverage pretty average at best; nothing too great, but nothing awful either]]. They're neither substantial nor terrible, they're just kind of forgettable. Some movies are often regarded as being [[SoBadItsGood incredibly cheesy and stupid]], [[NarmCharm but have their perks because of how silly and dumb they can be]], sometimes even becoming GuiltyPleasures in the process. Some movies are a less-than-pleasant experience, but one that will ultimately just be relegated to the occasional passing thought.

And then… there are '''these''' films. The kind of movies that, when brought up, immediately send shivers up even the most hardened critic's spine. The kind of films so bad that they fail to appeal to the niche audiences they're shooting for. Films so bad that they disrupt the very fabric of space and time and make even scientists question just how these freakish anomalies of film slipped through the cracks. These are the kind of films ''nobody'' wants to have to see; the kind of films you wouldn't even wish on your worst enemies.

# It isn't a Horrible film just because anyone from or formerly associated with Website/ChannelAwesome, [[WebVideo/CinematicExcrement Smeghead]], and/or any other CausticCritic reviewed it, or because it was on ''Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000''. [[note]]Despite what the theme song said, [=MST3K=] typically avoided thoroughly ''terrible'' films, for the sake of avoiding TooBleakStoppedCaring. The few exceptions ''are'' listed here, however.[[/note]] Nor is it a Horrible film just because it earned a [[UsefulNotes/GoldenRaspberryAward Razzie]] nomination/award for "Worst Picture" or any other category, due to the Razzies’ infamous habit of focusing more on films that are popular to hate regardless of quality. There needs to be independent evidence, such as reputable critics like Creator/RogerEbert and Creator/LeonardMaltin (emphasis on plural), for example, to list it. Once it is listed, they can provide the detailed review. Website/RottenTomatoes and Metacritic are good starting points to find those critics; if the rating on RT is in the single-digits and/or the Metascore below 30, it's a potential candidate for this list. In other words, if the score's that low, then it's universally despised by audiences and critics alike.

Nor is it a Horrible film just because it earned a [[UsefulNotes/GoldenRaspberryAward Razzie]] nomination/award for "Worst Picture." There needs to be independent evidence, such as reputable critics like Creator/RogerEbert and Creator/LeonardMaltin (emphasis on plural), for example, to list it. Once it is listed, they can provide the detailed review. Website/RottenTomatoes and Metacritic are good starting points to find those critics; if the rating on RT is in the single-digits and/or the Metascore below 30, it's a potential candidate for this list. In other words, if the score's that low, then it's universally despised by audience audiences and critics alike.

# Merely being offensive in its subject matter, a BoxOfficeBomb, or a film you don't plain like [[RuleOfCautiousEditingJudgement is not sufficient.]] Hard as it is to imagine at times, there is a market for all types of deviancy, no matter how small a niche it is. It has to ''fail to appeal even to that niche'' to qualify as this. And then… there's '''these''' films.

They're neither substantial or terrible, they're just kind of forgettable. Some movies are often regarded as being [[SoBadItsGood incredibly cheesy and stupid]], [[NarmCharm but have their perks because of how silly and dumb they can be]], sometimes even becoming GuiltyPleasures in the process.
