* Although ''Series/Legion2017'' takes place in a parallel universe which is distinct from the movie-verse, the show nevertheless alludes that David Haller is vaguely connected to Professor X (the former is the latter's estranged son in the comics). David also assumes he's going crazy when his mutant ability first manifests because he's HearingVoices. Both characters also sport MessyHair to denote their psychological instability.

misuse, refers to things that happen after the film's release. These happened before

* It's implied in a later scene that Hank is a {{Trekkie}}, so calling Peter's power "fascinating" was his attempt to emulate Spock, who is presumably his favourite character on ''Series/StarTrekTheOriginalSeries''.

* Sunspot has been ironically called the best adaptation of Human Torch in any of Creator/TwentiethCenturyFox's movies, as he is usually compared favorably to the much-maligned incarnations of Johnny Storm from the [[Film/FantasticFour2005 2005]] and [[Film/FantasticFour2015 2015]] flicks. The RaceLift to white Hispanic would prove to not be as controversial as the one from 2015 version, either.

** This movie also depicts Hank Main/HulkingOut à la ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk, when agitated. ''Film/AvengersEndgame'' has Bruce finally accepting Hulk as part of himself, and becoming Professor Hulk, who is a Main/GentleGiant with the Strength of the Hulk, but mind of Banner... à la Hank's Beast form.

Captain America The Winter Soldier was released before Days of Future Past. Also, these two films are not part of a shared universe

* Chinese actress Fan Bingbing had a small {{cameo}} in the Chinese cut of ''Film/IronMan3'', and then went on to play the heroine Blink in ''Film/XMenDaysOfFuturePast'' the following year.
* Ironically, Sunspot may be a better adaptation of Human Torch than any Human Torches from both of Creator/TwentiethCenturyFox's ''[[Film/FantasticFour2005 Fantastic Four]]'' [[Film/FantasticFour2015 movies]]. The RaceLift to white Hispanic wouldn't probably be as controversial as the 2015 version, either.

Hilarious In Hindsight is a trope whereby an event or situation that occurs AFTER this film was released makes events, situations or dialogue within it more amusing, charming or funny. This should be in the YMMV page for Working Girl, not here.

* Anyone who watches ''Days of Future Past'' before ''Film/WorkingGirl'' would chuckle whenever the characters in the latter discuss Trask Industries.

Refers to events from another movie, and is more of a case of Fridge Brilliance than Hilarious In Hindsight.

* The reason why Stryker can tell that "Wolverine" is an impostor in ''Film/X2XMenUnited'' is because the former had a scuffle with Mystique in 1973 when she freed mutant soldiers who were meant to be transported to Trask Industries. Stryker had witnessed firsthand her shape-shifting abilities.

Refers to events from Wanted that were made funnier by Day of Future Past, therefore it should be in the YMMV page for that movie, not here.

* Six years after ''Film/{{Wanted}}'', Creator/JamesMcAvoy accuses someone else for committing assassination because the bullet curved.

Hilarious In Hindsight is a trope whereby an event or situation that occurs after this film was released makes events, situations or dialogue within it more amusing, charming or funny. These entries are trivia at best, as they merely describe other roles some of the actors have played.

* ''Film/MadMaxFuryRoad'''s Slit is Stryker, which is hilarious considering that Nux is Beast.
* Anyone who is a fan of both [=McAvoy=]'s Xavier and Will Graham from ''Series/{{Hannibal}}'' will notice the striking similarities between the two characters. (You can read a more detailed comparison in the ReferencedBy section on [[Trivia/XMenFilmSeries this page]], but for the sake of this entry, it's enough to know that Will is a [[TheEmpath "pure empath"]] who is physically and emotionally scarred by his abusive love-hate relationship with the murderous Hannibal Lecter--heck, Hugh Dancy and Creator/JamesMcAvoy even look somewhat alike.) The ''Film/XMenFilmSeries'' fandom coined the term "Mutant husbands" to describe Charles' and Erik's homoerotic friendship, so all Cherik shippers who had watched the ''Series/{{Hannibal}}'' episode "And the Woman Clothed with the Sun..." burst out laughing when Freddie Lounds called Graham and Lecter "Murder husbands."

* The fact that Creator/PeterDinklage portrayed Bolivar Trask is a lot funnier now that his ''Series/GameOfThrones'' co-star Creator/SophieTurner plays the young Jean Grey in the next film. It's even funnier with Creator/MaisieWilliams in ''Film/TheNewMutants''.
* The younger Professor X and Bolivar Trask once worked together in ''Film/{{Penelope}}''.

The comparison makes very little sense. The Titans in that anime are taller than a skyscrapper and die almost instantly if they are stabbed in the back of the neck. The Sentinels in this movie are only a little taller than an average human being and do not share the same weakness.

* Warpath DualWielding daggers against the giant Sentinels, with a boost from Blink, [[Manga/AttackOnTitan and goes for the neck.]]

This entry refers to events from First Class. It's a valid example, but should go on the YMMV page for that movie.

* Considering that Xavier can [[spoiler:easily use Magneto as a marionette as long as the latter doesn't wear the telepathy-blocking helmet]], his words of encouragement in ''Film/XMenFirstClass'' ("When you can access all of that, you will possess a power no one can match. Not even me") now sounds rather hollow. It comes off as a little white lie that he made up on the spot in order to try to help Erik achieve the correct point between rage and serenity. In their natural state, Charles' ability is stronger than Erik's, no ifs, ands or buts about it. ''Film/XMenApocalypse'' further reinforces this point by depicting Professor X as the second-most powerful mutant in the story after Apocalypse [[spoiler:(third after Jean releases the Phoenix Force)]], and the eponymous villain waxes poetic about Xavier's psychic powers, calling them "extraordinary" and the best gift that he had encountered in "a thousand lifetimes."

* A DeusExMachina allows Creator/PatrickStewart's Professor X to act as SpiritAdvisor to Creator/JamesMcAvoy's young Charles Xavier, which is ''precisely'' what happened when both actors were in ''WesternAnimation/GnomeoAndJuliet''!

Speculative Troping, and MCU's Quicksilver was just as well received as the one from Days of Future Past.

* The reaction to Quicksilver, in a manner largely unrelated to the issues with his upcoming appearance in the Avengers sequel; many took exception to what appeared to be terrible visuals for the character when some of the still photos and character shoot images were revealed, and stated that they would wait for Whedon's sequel for a 'true' take on the character. Cut to the film's release, and it looks like Whedon actually has a pretty high benchmark to meet, given Singer's Quicksilver has been embraced by the audience.

* The comic book crossover between the X-Men and the cast of ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration'' had members of both cast having to deal with interferences to the Battle of Wolf 359 and Days of Future Past. Captain Picard was among those arriving in the [=DoFP=] timeline, technically making it Stewart's first experience in a world dominated by Sentinels.
* The parents of Bobby Drake were horrified in ''Film/X2XMenUnited'' when they thought that Wolverine was a teacher at the mansion (which was just Wolverine's convenient excuse at the time). Now, he ''is'' a teacher, for real. And who says that Bobby was not one of his students?
