** FridgeBrilliance that makes this even more heartwarming. Van Helsing has no memories of anyone or his past and Anna likely spent most of her life training to kill vampires, albeit having family members she loved and lost. It's all but stated on Van Helsing's part that he has never fallen in love before, and implied that Anna hasn't either. It's likely a FirstKiss for them both.
* Van Helsing is a jerk to Anna at first when she stops him from killing werewolf Velkan, thinking she's just being a bit naive and foolish. But once she states that she's going to try and find the rumoured cure for lycanthropy to save him, and how he's "the only family I have left", he concedes and tries to comfort her over her losses as well.
* Anna displays an interest in the sea throughout the film, stating she has never been to it and hopes that it's beautiful, and it's likely she's never been able to travel out of Transylvania because of the mission. Van Helsing honours this by having her funeral be by the sea.
* After burning Anna's body, Van Helsing looks into the clouds and sees Anna's spirit reuniting with Velkan and her father, with the outlines of other people, presumably her relatives greeting her. Although she's dead, he gets first hand confirmation that she's been reunited with her beloved family, and all the Valerious clan are going to {{Heaven}} because he defeated Dracula.
** We also see a single tear on Anna's face, which tells Van Helsing that she loved him as much as he loved her, and it saddens her to be parted from him even with meeting her family again.

* The very existence of Holy Order is, in a way, quite heartwarming. Disciples of different religions -- who would otherwise wage wars on each other countless times in history -- actually putting aside their differences and working together towards a greater goal. A mullah shouting "what in the name of Allah is wrong with you?" towards Carl is both very funny and very heartwarming when you think about it, because it means any of those disciples may express their own beliefs and absolutely nobody (with different beliefs) bats an eyelid.

* A brief one for the villains; after losing Marishka, Dracula decides to press ahead with his plans to awaken his children. Aleera and Verona beg him not to, insisting they can't go through the heartbreak of losing their offspring again if it fails.
