The real reason why we fell in love with these characters, and why we find them to be cute and fluffy (and not just referring to Stitch's physical cuteness and fluffiness either), is because of their genuine love for one another. Lilo and Stitch themselves were troubled individuals before they met each other. Lilo seeing Stitch as a friend and making efforts to understand him [[HeelFaceTurn causes him to become a compassionate creature]], while his very presence as well as his understanding of her in return [[TameHerAnger causes her to be less temperamental]]. They are both incredibly supportive of each other and [[DontSplitUsUp do not like it when they separate]]. Even when they fight, they would end up feeling remorseful for their actions towards the other [[TheAtoner and are willing to make up for them]]. Even as [[Anime/{{Stitch}} adults who have gone their separate ways]] as a result of a huge misunderstanding, they still have their affections for each other. The two became one of the greatest pairs of best friends in Disney history as a result of the events of these films and television series because [[PlatonicLifePartners they care about each other so much]]. That is what ''[[TrueCompanions 'ohana]]'' is all about.

* Stitch and his connection to Creator/HansChristianAndersen's ''Literature/TheUglyDuckling''. When he ransacks Lilo's bookshelf nothing catches his eye except that story and after Lilo tells him about the story, he then goes out ''twice'' to find his family.

** Another interpretation of the title would be "Lost and Found", as both title characters lose something before or during the events of the film (Lilo's parents and Stitch's will to destroy) and would end up finding a new loving family in each other. * A conspiracy theory behind the title. Lilo can be translated as "lonely" or "lost" in Hawaiian and Stitch simply means to sew back together. The title has been seen by some to mean "Lost and brought back together" referring to Stitch's presence mending the relationship between Lilo and Nani that has been broken after the death of their parents.

He starts off struggling in Nani's arms--at least until something Lilo says gets his undivided attention, namely "'Ohana means family". Even better is the absolutely ''stunned'' look he gives Nani when she immediately closes the door after that same line. This is the first scene in the movie where Stitch seems to regard Lilo and Nani as if they are more than just his meat-shields.

* Easily overlooked, but the other girls (except [[AlphaBitch Mertle]]) are nicer to Lilo than they were in the first movie, speaking to her politely even when she interrupts Kumu's announcement, letting her join the circle when they're talking about ideas for the hula competition and talking about how her mother was cool. One of them even rebukes Mertle gently when she insensitively points out that Lilo's mother is dead.
* There's a scene where Lilo is frustrated about her missing parents and what's going on in her life right now, and Nani, as always is trying her hardest to reach her. They fight a little, but in the end they connect over their memories over their mother, and Nani reassures her that her mother will always love her.

* Jumba and Pleakley trying to help when Kumu comes over the house. Things go horribly wrong and they weird Kumu out, but the fact that they tried to diffuse the situation and make Lilo seem like a precious angel is touching.
* The end, where it seems that Stitch [[spoiler:has died...only for Lilo to save him]]. This exchange between Jumba and Pleakley sums it up perfectly:

* Lilo, after using Checkers in the Episode of the same name, decides to get the other Experiments to get a float with her classmates. and who will be the one who sits at the throne of the float and be honored? [[CoolBigSis Nani]], since she has gone through quite a bit.
* In "Elastico", the titular Experiment has found his own place with the circus. While they are very ecentric and fun loving, they are all happy to have the little elastic oddball in their family.

* While the ending credits were already mentioned, Cobra Bubbles deserves a special mention. After spending the entire movie being the scary (though extremely reasonable) government man, he helps rebuild Nani's house, sings at Lilo's birthday, and watches late night movies with Jumba and Pleakley, with a smile that makes him look downright handsome.

* Despite his departure from Disney to DreamWorksAnimation, Chris Sanders continues to voice Stitch in Kingdom Hearts, Disney Infinity, and just about every other opportunity he gets. Now ''that's'' sweet.
