* Toho, Tomoyuki Tanaka especially [[note]]often considered Godzilla's main creator[[/note]], tried very hard in the 90s to remake ''Film/KingKongVsGodzilla'', but copyright blocked their attempts, even trying to use Mechani-Kong, to the point it had to be abandoned. Seeing that dream ''finally'' come true thanks to Legendary is rather touching. Even better is it was extremely successful. One gets the sense Mr. Tanaka's spirit was smiling when Toho got to release this film in Japan to great success.
* The film was so well-loved during the United States' Opening Weekend that #[=ContinueTheMonsterverse=] trended on social media for an entire day, with fans begging Legendary to continue the series.
** It even got the attention of both [[Film/KongSkullIsland Kong: Skull Island]] director Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who backed the movement, and even ''Legendary Pictures'' themselves.
* The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bNa8dMREKg big reunion]] of the Monsterverse directors has plenty of fun. Vogt-Roberts, Dougherty, Wingard, and Edwards exchanging snark, geeking out over each other's films, and voicing support for the future give the sense the four had a blast directing the featured films of this series.
* The film proved to be a much needed shot in the arm to the movie theater business in 2021. Prior to its release, many theaters had gone into hibernation or risked collapse; with mediocre box office takes for even would-be blockbusters. ''Godzilla vs. Kong'' proved to be the perfect sweat spot of an entertaining action film to get adults back in the seats, while being perfectly approachable for the kids to tag along. The road to recovery for theaters and box office success in the second half of 2021 was paved by the two biggest trailblazers in the business.
** Additionally, the film proved wildly successful on streaming and became a KillerApp for [=HBO Max=]. Not just by itself, but for the multiple other Godzilla and King Kong films on the platform. For people unable to go to the theaters for safety reasons, having a free blockbuster delivered to them with more films in tow created a lot of kaiju fans during the pandemic.

** After barely surviving Godzilla’s assault on them at the Tasman Sea Jia makes sure to let the tired but still alert Kong “thank you” for protecting them. Kong on his part seems finally able to let himself relax upon seeing that she is safe.

* Kong's Kong and Jia's relationship is genuinely touching. His surprising gentleness toward what is essentially an ant to him is particularly heartwarming. And his ability to communicate with her via sign language is a beautiful demonstration of Kong being an intelligent creature with the little Iwi girl capacity to care for others.
** Before he destroys the H.E.A.V with Maia in it Kong briefly peeks inside to make sure that
Jia is quite sweet, showing the gentle side of his personality.isn't inside before destroying it.

* In general, Kong's devotion to protect the humans he's close to is so strong, he'll combat a powerful Titan such as Godzilla, even if the fight will likely cost him his very life up to the point of a HeroicSacrifice on his part.

* Nathan comforting crying Jia by saying she is a brave little girl. Although he accidently calls her a coward after she called him one by HidingBehindTheLanguageBarrier early in the film. She smiles however and understands what he was trying to say. She points back to imply she thinks he brave too.

"Benevolence" is a little strong, since Godzilla's actions mostly seem based on need and defensive instincts rather than any kind of benevolence to humans or other kaiju, possibly excluding Mothra.

** It also hints at Godzilla's inherent benevolence: He only kills other Titans if he absolutely needs to. The Mutos were threatening to breed and were specifically seeking him as a radiation source, on top of being parasites that had killed off the rest of his species, and Ghidorah was an extraterrestrial threat actively plotting to destroy the Earth. Kong, however, is no threat to the planet and at worst is just an annoying challenger, interfering with his mission to find Ghidorah's signal. Godzilla doesn't find it necessary to kill him, just remind him who's boss and order him to stand down.

** Adding to this from Kong’s perspective, he had every right to be angry about nearly dying from Godzilla’s brutal beating that nearly resulted in a fatal heart attack for Kong. Kong saving Godzilla’s life after being convinced Godzilla was not the true enemy and that Mecha-Godzilla was truly the one instigating the conflict shows that Kong is capable of showing compassion to his enemies, which ends their battle for good and results in a peaceful end of the battle between the two Titans.

Edited for clarity, because we already know Kong can show compassions to others thanks to his beyond with Jia and the fact that he hadn't tried to kill all the humans who contained/transported him until he succeeded in killing them.

** Pay attention to how Monarch is keeping tabs on Kong from the beginning of the film to the end. Before moving him, they kept Kong in a ''containment'' outpost on Skull Island. Now as they set up shop in the Hollow Earth, they're not doing anything to contain him. In fact, their purpose in the Hollow Earth is to act as a ''monitoring'' station to watch Kong in his new home. Spending a good portion of the film being contained and in chains, it's really sweet to see Kong free and as happy as he can be.

*** Also worth noting is that Kong's actually smiling when he signs the word "Home" to Jia.
Spending a good portion most of the film being contained and in captivity, either via containment or in chains, on top of never having a happy ending in all of Kong's cinema history, it's really sweet to see extremely heartwarming that Kong is finally free to roam in his new home, and as happy as he can be.
for the first time, actually feel happy.

** It’s not just surprise, but also confusion and even shock that Kong was even willing to save his former enemy. From Godzilla’s perspective, [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone he may have realised too late after the savage beating from Mecha-Godzilla that he may have killed the only one capable of destroying his foe after being clearly outmatched/beaten and felt remorse for he did to Kong]] before the killing blow could be performed on him and thinking even if Kong were alive, ''he felt like Kong was going to let him die for nearly killing him''. Thankfully, the opposite occurs and Kong saves his life, to a thankful Godzilla’s relief.
