** French is the 4th most spoken language in New York. And he lives in a Hatian neighborhood. I'm pretty sure its not that difficult for him to either talk to people directly who happens to understand French, or translate for him. And as as far as his customers, it wouldn't be that difficult dealing with them either. If the customer doesn't speak french they can just point at a picture, and he can tell them how much it cost by holding up his fingers.

* Raymond speaks only French, so how can he make a living selling ice cream in an English-speaking country? How would he place orders with suppliers, communicate with mechanics to maintain his truck, and file business documents with no grasp of English? Does he just have English-speaking family or friends do it for him?

* What is the role of the brown dog that appears to Ghost Dog throughout the film? It neither symbolizes nor does anything of significance, other than stare at Ghost Dog.
