Given that the latter get 24-hour healing, food and protection for doing nothing other than what ''all'' Pokemon do naturally- fight- it's not hard to see why.

** Though Zaravant dislikes Jaswant due to his Shindurian background, he also happens to be jealous Jaswant due to Jaswant having such a high position of trust in Arslan's group.

* Arata Minami of ''Manga/KaijuGirlCaramelise'' is a major ChickMagnet, to the point that many girls at Ginjuuji High School are put off by the idea of him actually dating a girl. They're [[WhatDoesHeSeeInHer especially put off]] when it becomes clear that he likes [[AllOfTheOtherReindeer Kuroe Akaishi]]. Subsequently, Kuroe is sporadically subjected to StockShoujoBullyingTactics from the jealous girls.

* ''Manga/MutekiKanbanMusume'': TheBully Miki hates TheRival Megumi’s claiming that is due to Megumi being a BitchInSheepsClothing, but she really hates all the [[MaleGaze male attention]] Megumi has when she does FanServiceWithASmile.

* [[WellDoneSonGuy Akutagawa Ryunosuke]] from ''Manga/BungouStrayDogs'' is a human manifestation of this trope. He has displayed hostility to at least two people for getting [[SinkOrSwimMentor Dazai]]'s recognition, something he tries hard throughout his life to achieve.

* Vegeta from ''[[Manga/DragonBall Dragon Ball Z]]'' has got to be the epitome of this trope. Throughout the entire series Vegeta envies Goku because no matter how hard he trains and fights he is never able to surpass Goku. This becomes a literal case of Green-Eyed Monster when Vegeta becomes a Super Saiyan (the transformation gives you green eyes) and despite finally becoming the warrior of legend that the Saiyan Race had admired for thousands of years in reality, ''still'' couldn't let go of his pride. During the era of peace after Goku died he still finds a reason to be jealous because he sees that Goku's family life is more loving and meaningful than his is as Goku's family supported him and made him a better fighter while his didn't show the same results. It is only when Vegeta lets go and admits that becoming better than Goku isn't all there is to his life that he truly shines as a warrior and becomes a good guy.

* ''Manga/{{Evangelion 303}}'':

** Saburo was jealous of Rei because Kaworu [[UnbrokenVigil a long time for her bedside]] when she fell into a coma. He dumped Kaworu in a fit of jealousy, but when Kaworu and Rei started to hang together his jealousy increased and he started to lash out at Rei.

* Arguably, [[TroubledButCute Hayato]] [[StalkerWithACrush Gokudera]] from ''Manga/KatekyoHitmanReborn'', over Tsunayoshi "Tsuna" Sawada. He gets ''incredibly'' jealous of anyone who gets along well with him. HoYay, anyone?

* ''Manga/UchiNoMusumeNiTeODasuNa'' provides an incestuous example. In the ''"Amazing Eighth Wonder Vol.1"'', Hanna tells Athena why her daughter, Clara, is upset with her. Ever since Athena's reunited with her husband, they've been making up for lost time every night, and Clara can ''[[RightThroughTheWall hear them]]''; leaving her feeling jilted, because she has the hots [[LustObject for her own mother.]]

* In ''Manga/MahouSenseiNegima'' we have Chisame's [[http://www.mangafox.com/manga/mahou_sensei_negima/v32/c288/18.html reaction to Akira going all flustered and blushing over Negi]], [[http://www.mangafox.com/manga/mahou_sensei_negima/v32/c288/17.html especially to his]] "[[ChickMagnet Natural Gigolo]] [[LampshadeHanging Talk]]".

* ''LightNovel/MyNextLifeAsAVillainessAllRoutesLeadToDoom''

* In ''Manga/KareKano'' Arima has been intensely jealous of Yukino paying attention to anyone but him several times. And Arima's UnluckyChildhoodFriend Tsubasa sets a failed WoundedGazelleGambit out of pure jealousy against Yukino. She gets over it, though.

** There's also the jealousy Farnese feels for Casca for being the sole object of Guts's affection. Farnese is technically betrothed to Roderick, who is himself quite handsome, but she definitely has a crush on Guts who doesn't see her beyond being Casca's caretaker. Farnese even breaks down in front of Casca, telling her that she's really ungrateful to ignore Guts after all he did for her but Casca being insane and regressed to infancy, it doesn't really do anything, although Casca seems to understand Farnese's distress. Farnese especially goes though this when fixing Casca's [[JourneyToTheCenterOftheMind mind]], as she witnesses the entirety of Guts and Casca's relationship and becomes very depressed, though she still [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy cared more]] about reuniting them than her own feelings.

* ''Anime/{{K}}'''s Fushimi Saruhiko and Yata Misaki's [[WeUsedToBeFriends used to be friends]]. But Fushimi couldn't ''stand'' not having Misaki's undivided attention and defected to SCEPTER 4 because hate equals attention. Whatever you do, don't interfere in their fights. Just ask Kamamoto. This also caused quite the...uh, psychotic break. Now he's a [[AxCrazy bat-shit crazy]] StalkerWithACrush [[AttentionWhore who'll do anything to get Misaki's attention]]. My my.

** This is also Shiori's motivation. ** Katarina was ''supposed'' to be super envious of Maria for her talent and winning Gerald's love, but now that she's suddenly nice and doesn't like Gerald much she has no jealousy at all, [[spoiler:making her immune to some forms of dark magic.]]

** In turn, Naruto was this towards Sasuke, but ''only'' in Part I. He was jealous of Sasuke's [[TheAce skills]] and [[ChickMagnet reputation]], and he was jealous that Sasuke was the one Sakura had a crush on. Sakura calls him out on this in the {{canon}} movie ''Anime/TheLastNarutoTheMovie'', stating that his jealousy towards Sasuke, his desire to beat out Sasuke at something for once, was the only reason why he had a crush on her--which was implied in Chapter 3.

** [[{{Filler}} In the anime, one movie, and an OVA]], Sakura is inexplicably jealous of any girl that takes Naruto's attention away from her even though she constantly claimed in Part I she didn't even like him. This was also seen at least once or twice in ''Shippuden''. ** Additionally, Sasuke grows jealous when he discovers that Naruto is advancing faster than he is, eventually completely annihilating his better judgment and going off to join Orochimaru. It just goes downhill from there.
