* The final act of VideoGame/Persona5 reveals that the entire overarching plot was riding on this. [[spoiler:Masayoshi Shido and his band of conspirators had been using the Metaverse to ruin the careers and lives of their political opponents and anyone who got in their way, and TheDragon, Goro Akechi, was doing their bidding for the sole purpose of exacting revenge on Shido, who happened to be his father through an illicit affair, when the time was right. Shido suspected this and planned to dispose of Akechi once he was elected]]. This conspiracy spoiler:begins plotting against the Phantom Thieves when they start to (unknowingly) target their associates, in an attempt to frame them for their own crimes. The Phantom Thieves catch on to this and hatch their own plot against Akechi so that they can uncover who's behind everything. And finally, [[spoiler:all of this is just a solitaire game by Yaldabaoth, who deliberately rigs the most despicable, ignorant and tyrannical conspiracy possible into power and have the masses worship them, then have either Joker or Akechi dismantle them so he can justify his despotic rule over humanity so there will be no more corrupt and impotent conspiracies like the one he sets up. And then he manipulates the masses to delete all Phantom Thieves as well. At this point, Joker can either cut a deal with him in order to keep himself in business so he can take over the city for the price of all of his comrades, or put a stop to all the plotting and collusion and take him down.]]

** VideoGame/DissidiaFinalFantasy: Is it really surprising that when you force ten villains to work together, each with egos and powers larger than life, and all of them very high-ranked on the scales of threat and effectiveness in their own games, that they won't always work together? The Emperor is a textbook Chessmaster, the mastermind of the game's plot with his own secret goal to AGodAmI become a god. Ultimecia is his second-in-command and goes along with him while harboring her own scheme to become a god in her own way. Meanwhile Golbez goes along with them because he is TheMole and thus is banking on Cosmos' BatmanGambit to work and stop them. Cloud of Darkness, Exdeath and Kefka go along with the plan with the desire to destroy everything, and in the meantime Kefka is working on a plan to invoke a FaceHeelTurn in Terra. The Emperor and Ultimecia try to cut Sephiroth in on their plan, but he rejects them because he has his own secret plan to become a god as well. Kuja tries to interfere with Ultimecia's plan for Squall to snub her for insulting him under the advice of Kefka, who is probably just messing with them for kicks. Jecht is going along with the Emperor's plan because he's the Emperor's UnwittingPawn who has been lied to. And Garland is watching it all unfold knowing that in the end his plan for Chaos will continue regardless of what they do because he's TheFatalist and doesn't believe any of their plans will amount to stopping the GroundhogDayLoop everyone is stuck in.

Spelling/grammar fix(es)

** Seems to be mostly averted in VideoGame/KingdomHeartsIII: other than Maleficent [[spoiler:(who's plan never comes to anything), Vexen and possibly Xigbar]], the only people with plans are the collective good guys and collective bad guys. It helps that most of the bad guys are
