** What makes the above more funny is that A could very easily be mistaken for a ''Consul'', thanks to their outfit and OneLetterName [[labelnote:Side Note]] This very plausible mistake actually did happen [[Website/TvTropes here]] with the first drafts of A's Character Page as they were incorrectly put as Consul A in the Moebius folder when they were first revealed until the game proper clarified they weren’t a Consul which gives an extra dimension on Matthew not being any bit suspicious[[/labelnote]]. IdiotHero, thy name is Matthew.

* When Shulk does the dishes, he just holds the plate in his organic hand as if he's worried about breaking it with his mechanical one.
* Rex tries to peak in Glimmer's journal on his [[EpicFail blind spot]], only to turn around when she notices him.

* Towards the end of the DLC, when talking to Matthew's friend Dillon, he lets slip that Mickey, another NPC and friend of Matthew, has a thing for Na'el. This [[BigBrotherInstinct bothers Matthew greatly]]. Even funnier, if you go to talk to Mickey after this, Matthew tells an understandably nervous Mickey that after they were going to have a 'chat' after dealing with Alpha.

Matthew's such a dumbass

Added DiffLines:

* After Matthew asks if Klaus' world existed prior to Alrest and Bionis, Rex says "The lad's got brawn and brains." He praises Matthew's intelligence even though all he did was properly understand what Shulk ''just'' said. The bar is embarrasingly low.
* The fact that many players didn't hear the first half of Matthew and Na'el's conversation simply because they were too busy paying attention to the radio.
* Matthew calling Alpha "Mr. Alpha, sir" after rescuing Na'el.

* During the one at Dunban's former house, Shulk gives an embarrassed MathematiciansAnswer as to whether Dunban was Shulk's mentor or brother-in-law, much to Rex's confusion.

** Even better, Matthew is confused despite being one of the party members who does know what families are. Glimmer and Nikol being lost would be understandable, having just been released from the Flame Clock, but Matthew....

Guys, we can't spell a word correctly AND incorrectly in the same sentence

* At the Affinity Scene overlooking the Ferronis Wreckage, while the party discusses the Feronises, Shulk laments that the wreckage is too big to be taken back to Colony 9 for analysis, to Nikol's agreement, Rex's amusement, and Matthew's exasperation.

** For players of ''2'' who interacted with the broken pipe organ in Elysium as Zeke, this is extra funny, as he laments he can't play "Zekenator's Fifth," implying he's a composer on top of everything else. Combine that with the scene in ''Future Redeemed'' and it's quite possible Zeke von Genbu, Bringer of Chaos ''composed his own theme song.''

I think Zeke composed his own theme in-universe and nobody can change my mind

** For added hilarity, imagine Zeke or Pandoria carrying around a portable speaker in case they bump into Rex and co.

* Glimmer's initial description of the people who destroyed Gamma's Flame Clock? "Weirdos. Two of them." The way she says it just ''oozes'' teenage grumpiness.

Had the chapter wrong, and the redundant wording was bugging me.

* In the middle of a tense, dramatic scene, it is revealed that Matthew's Blades have Pneuma's Core Crystal--an incredibly important moment with staggering implications for both this story and the main game. N promptly names them the "Fists of the End," thereby proving that he's still terrible at naming things.

Mio named Ghondor. Heck, the whole reason Noah is known for being bad at naming things is specifically this scene where N/Noah states he shouldn't name their child and M/Mio concedes his point. Ghondor dislikes her name presumably because it is more a male name.

* The name that [[Characters/XenobladeChronicles3Heroes present day Ghondor]] repeatedly complains about? Here, we learn it was also the name of Founder Vandham's grandfather. And who named his grandfather? [[RunningGag Noah.]]
