** After Kindaichi and Marin are back in the company office following the end of the murder case, Kindaichi finds himself under scrutiny from the general affairs officer asking him about the invoice from the hotel where he and Marin had booked for a night, especially after finding out the hotel in question was heavily geared for ''lovers''. Kindaichi is at a loss about what to say to get himself out of this one, so Marin takes over to get herself and Kindaichi in the clear -- by giving the gist on their circumstances in full confidence. ** Kindaichi, being an ApatheticStudent, struggles to cope with the strict regimen in the CramSchool, and it ''shows''. He begs and pleads to go with Miyuki when she tells him goodbye, right around the START of the regimen, necessitating Souta to hold him back. Then he gets distracted by his own thoughts about how Miyuki is doing early in a class session, which causes him to pull out the wrong textbook and results in the teacher telling him off for it. The meals being provided in the facility isn't enough to sate his appetite, as evidenced when he whines about needing a hamburger and fries.
