* In Chloe's first dream, in her father's car, she recognizes the country song playing on the radio as her father's favorite and seems comforted by it. However, in dialogue and in her diary, she firmly states that she hates country music. Her affection for her father is what allows her to appreciate that one song (though a later dream also establishes that she still prefers to listen to her own music).

* In a bit of Fridge irony, Chloe finds a burned CD of songs that Max made for her and notes that Max probably didn't illegally download a single one of them. For all her love of playing pirates, Max doesn't practice copyright piracy.

* In ''Life is Strange'', Chloe defended Frank to Max, insisting that he's "not creepy" despite him just having waved a knife in her face. The fact that he comes to her rescue three times in ''Before the Storm'', gets stabbed for his trouble, and is implied to have killed someone to defend her is likely why she's inclined to be so charitable towards him in the future.

* How did Rachel manage to get into the old mill before Chloe, despite being younger? She's the daughter of the DA and known for her charisma and being able to blend in with just about any group of people. It's possible that she had to complete her own Backtalk with Thunder, which was easier for her to pull off compared to Chloe, who is a minor.

* Chloe curses herself for freezing when Damon threatens Rachel with a knife. Later, in the original game, Chloe will very proactively shoot both Pompidou and Frank if they threaten Max.

* Chloe choosing to lie to Rachel about her father has the effect of keeping their relationship intact, but it's unlikely to last. Frank was there and knows about Rachel's mother being kidnapped and drugged, so if Chloe doesn't tell the truth, it's likely he will eventually.

** Nathans actions can be explained by his life not giving him a good judge of consequences, while Jefferson, like most serial criminals, might see himself as so smart and powerful he never considered he'd get caught.

** A major choice in the first episode is whether to help ''Nathan Prescott'' of all people when he gets bullied. There are similarly a few choices later on to help Nathan by encouraging Samantha to reach out to him. So why is Nathan so hostile towards Chloe three years later? Well, remember his reaction to Chloe sticking up for him; he gets pissed and harshly turns down her good deed. Eventually, Nathan's mental health deteriorates even further and he falls into some bad influences. He and Chloe are both also very shaken by Rachel's disappearance, [[spoiler:especially since Nathan accidentally killed her]]. These factors undoubtedly destroyed what little chance the two had of possibly getting along.
** Why does Chloe's relationship with [[TookALevelInJerkass Frank]] also worsen despite him [[spoiler:having saved her from danger here?]] Because of Rachel, who [[spoiler:is revealed to have been cheating on Chloe with Frank (and later Mr. Jefferson) during the last year of their relationship]]. * In the original game, Chloe will defend Frank to Max and insist that he's "not creepy" even though he just waved a knife in her face. The fact that he comes to her rescue against scary people three times over in this game, gets stabbed for his trouble and [[spoiler: is implied to have killed someone to defend her]] is probably the reason why she's inclined to be so charitable towards him.
* Chloe can attempt to mend fences with Blackwell Academy but as we know from ''Life is Strange'' this is not going to happen. However, as we see with Principal Wells, he's not interested in helping Chloe and wants to revoke her scholarship because the school is seriously hurting for money. There was no answer that was going to make him want to help Chloe versus kicking her out and Joyce can pick up on this during their conversation in Episode 2.
** Similarly, Chloe can try to mend fences with David but their relationship will completely deteriorate by the original game. While this is the case regardless of your choices, it makes sense even if you were conciliatory to David. Why? Because Rachel's disappearance sends both of them into a spiral of bad behavior with David being paranoid about bad influences and Chloe having all of her emotional wounds torn open.
** A major choice in the first episode is the possibility of helping ''Nathan Prescott'' of all people when he gets bullied. Similarly, you can make a few choices throughout the whole game to help Nathan by getting Samantha to reach out to him. So, why is Nathan so hostile towards Chloe three years later? Well, remember his reaction to Chloe sticking up for him; he gets pissed and harshly turns down that good deed. Eventually, Nathan's mental health deteriorates even further, and he falls into some bad influences. He and Chloe are both also very shaken by Rachel's disappearance, [[spoiler:especially since Nathan accidentally killed her]]. These factors can undoubtedly lead to their relationship having what little chance it had of possibly working being completely destroyed.
** Why does Chloe's relationship with Frank become so bad even though he [[spoiler: saved her life? Possibly twice?]] Well, Rachel is an obvious candidate for the tension as we know [[spoiler: she begins cheating on Chloe with Frank and later Mr. Jefferson during the last year of their relationship]]. Even if Chloe is in denial, Frank's obvious familiarity and intimacy with Rachel whenever she comes up would tick her off. It's also possible that [[spoiler:killing Damon]] is what partially causes Frank to [[TookALevelInJerkass Take A Level In Jerkass]], as that was [[spoiler:his good friend]] and throughout the game, even when he acknowledges that [[spoiler:Damon is JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope, he is actively trying to keep him in check and is visibly remorseful after he finally puts him down]]. That combined with Chloe's constant inability to pay him back for all the weed he gives her, all amounts to Frank's strained view on Chloe three years later, as in his eyes, Chloe is being an UngratefulBastard.
* Where are Chloe's friends at Blackwell Academy like Steph, Mikey, and Samantha by the original game? Well, as the montage shows, no longer being at Blackwell means she doesn't get to spend time with them for ''two years'' so, of course, they've drifted apart. Chloe seems to have very intense singular relationships versus many broad ones.
* Eliot's creepy behavior becomes a lot more understandable (albeit no less creepy) if you note Chloe causally mentions losing her virginity over the past summer but it not meaning anything. If Eliot was the other person involved, it might explain a bit of his reaction and why he seems to think they're boyfriend and girlfriend after a long friendship. He was hoping for and didn't get a RelationshipUpgrade.
* No wonder Chloe has no problem pocketing an envelope marked "Handicapped Fund" from Principal Wells' desk in ''Life is Strange''. As far as she's concerned, Wells kicked her out to save scholarship money. She's not going to believe for a second that he isn't just running a scam.
* Chloe witnesses Rachel set a small fire, which a wind from out of nowhere then fans into a huge forest fire, and for the next couple of days the news is full of reports of how bizarrely difficult the fire is proving to fight -- almost like it's fighting back. No wonder she's willing to listen to Max claiming to have supernatural powers and casually asks for proof instead of just staring at her.
* It may seem like a brief display of FridgeLogic at first glance knowing that Rachel got into the old mill before Chloe, considering that not only did Chloe have trouble getting in due to being a minor, but Rachel is actually ''younger'' than Chloe (Chloe is 16 while Rachel is 15).. until you remember that this is ''Rachel Amber'' we're talking about, who's known for her charisma and being able to blend in with just about any group of people. It's possible that she had to complete her own Backtalk with Thunder, in fact, it was probably much easier for her to pull off.
* Frank sends Chloe onto the Blackwell campus to get the money Drew is hiding from Damon because she's a student and he's a scary drug dealer. So, how did Damon get in? Chloe left the keys she stole from Samuel in the door. Why would she do this? Erm, [[IdiotBall anyone's guess]].

Trimming down redundancy, fixing a name error, and Justin is still in Blackwell by 2013 and even has a friendly interaction with Chloe.

* Where are Chloe's friends at Blackwell Academy like Steph, Justin, and Mickey by the original game? Well, as the montage shows, no longer being at Blackwell means she doesn't get to spend time with them for ''two years'' so, of course, they've drifted apart. Chloe seems to have very intense singular relationships versus many broad ones.

That combined with Chloe's constant inability to pay him back for all the weed he gives her, all amounts to Frank's strained view on Chloe three years later, as in his eyes, Chloe is being an UngratefulBastard.

Eliot's name is only spelled with one L.

* Chloe can attempt to mend fences with Blackwell Academy but as we know from ''Life is Strange'' this is not going to happen. However, as we see with Principal Wells, he's not interested in helping Chloe and wants to revoke her scholarship because the school is seriously hurting for money. There was no answer that was going to make him want to help Chloe versus kicking her out and Joyce can pick up on this during their conversation in Episode II.

* Elliot's creepy behavior becomes a lot more understandable (albeit no less creepy) if you note Chloe causally mentions losing her virginity over the past summer but it not meaning anything. If Elliot was the other person involved, it might explain a bit of his reaction and why he seems to think they're boyfriend and girlfriend after a long friendship.

There's not even a single indication in the original game that David is ever abusive toward Joyce. Judging from the fact that she will comfort David when he is suspended, they get along quite well . He only slaps Chloe because he wants her to stop taking drug. When people are suspecting Chloe of breaking into Blackwell, he gives Chloe an alibi even though it puts his job at risk. When he knows Jefferson kills Chloe, he avenges her. Stop demonizing that guy. He means well.

* David trying to bury the hatchet with Chloe ultimately leads to Chloe remaining in Arcadia Bay... because David Madsen [[spoiler: physically abuses Chloe]] as seen in the original Life is Strange and is verbally abusive toward her even in Before the Storm. As it is likely Rachel finds out about [[spoiler: what her father recruited Damon to do to her biological mother Sera]] either by Chloe or by Frank, Mr. Amber would likely blame Chloe. Thus if Chloe tries to turn to the police about David's abuse, the police don't do anything. Chloe likely stayed under her mother's roof because she was afraid if she wasn't there to draw David's attention to her, he'd turn on her mom. Even worse, Joyce never reacts to David [[spoiler: hitting and]] verbally abusing her daughter until three years later when Max returns - it is only when the girl she considers a second daughter points out how David is abusing Chloe and his other actions that [[spoiler: she potentially throws him out (depending on player choices of course)]].
** Seeing Rachel was seeking to escape Arcadia Bay, Chloe dragging her heels and not wanting to abandon her mom to David may be why [[spoiler: Rachel ends up cheating on Chloe with Frank Bowers and later Mark Jefferson]].

The fact that he comes to her rescue against scary people three times over in this game, gets stabbed for his trouble and [[spoiler: is implied to have killed someone to defend her]] is probably the reason why she's inclined to be so charitable towards him.

** Why does Chloe's relationship with Frank become so bad even though he [[spoiler: saved her life?
