* In ''Fanfic/{{Reality Check|MHA}}'', Shinsou's belief that he's constantly being persecuted for his {{Brainwashing}} Quirk proves to be his biggest FatalFlaw. As far as he's concerned, none of his problems are [[NeverMyFault ever HIS fault]]; it's just that everyone else hates, despises and fears him for reasons completely beyond his control. Both All Might and Principal Nedzu try to help him realize that his troubled past doesn't give him the right to lash out at his peers or abuse his powers, but Shinsou ignores their warnings until the consequences catch up to him and [[spoiler:all of his teammates for the final exam declare that they'd sooner quit than be forced to work with somebody they don't trust]].

** As Sirius puts it, while it is true that Magical Britain's FantasticRacism against werewolves is sickening, it does not excuse Fenrir Greyback and his pack's actions.
** When Peter Pettigrew reveals he sold out James, Lily, and Harry to Voldemort because he resented the rest of the Marauders for looking down on him and never treating him as an equal, Sirius admits that they were all wrong to treat him like that but points out that still doesn't excuse Peter's betrayal of the Potters and being an accessory for murder.
** When the Six learn of what Merope Gaunt did to Tom Riddle Senior, they agree that no matter how horrible her life was, it was no excuse to force someone into a relationship.

* ''Fanfic/EndOfTheLine'': Everyone is made aware that Dabi was another victim of Endeavor's tyrannical abuse, and while the media tries to play it up, the actual cast is firmly of the belief that it doesn't justify him becoming a supervillain with a serious kill count. Even his siblings bring up how there were other alternatives to bringing the abusive monster to justice without him turning into another monster in the long run.

** During the HPSC investigation into Aizawa's motives and actions towards Izuku, it's heavily implied Aizawa never worked through his trauma over the death of Oboro Shirakumo. Instead, it's implied he has chosen to push his trauma-motivated irrational standards onto his students, trying to avoid another "reckless" death at any cost, even if the student didn't do anything wrong and his actions damage their educations or careers. His choices regarding Izuku are just the most extreme example known. The HPSC makes very clear that this doesn't excuse his behavior towards his students and instead see this as a sign that he's completely unfit for his teaching position. Further, the duplicitous manner in which he acted in order to enforce his irrational standards means they don't find him trustworthy enough to be a hero, either.
