With Wes cutting the paragraph about the TV shows' continuity, I'm restoring an older version (with updates). The last version that Wes cut was hardly ideal, but I do think it's important to note the shows' weird canon status.

In October 2019, [[https://deadline.com/2019/10/kevin-feige-marvel-studios-president-adds-chief-creative-officer-marvel-title-oversees-all-creative-1202760382/ Kevin Feige received a major promotion]] allowing him to oversee all of Marvel's television productions, with Jeph Loeb later committing to stepping down after a transition period. This led to the planned ''Adventure Into Fear'' sub-franchise being canceled, and the only show produced under the banner, ''Series/{{Helstrom}}'', was declared separate from the MCU by its showrunner when it was released in October 2020. Marvel Television was [[https://deadline.com/2019/12/marvel-tv-shut-down-layoffs-jeph-loeb-kevin-feige-1202805979/ shut down]] and folded into Marvel Studios in December 2019, with the last aired episode set in the MCU being the series finale of ''Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'' in August 2020.

The current canonicity of these TV shows is unknown; they've never officially been declared CanonDiscontinuity, but they also haven't been treated as canon works since the Multiverse Saga began. (The shows available on Disney+ are usually labeled "Marvel Legacy" content like other non-MCU works and are not included in explicitly MCU-focused categories, and tie-in material like the ''MCU Official Timeline'' book ignores them as well.) On the other hand, ''Avengers: Endgame'' and a number of Multiverse Saga works have had some TV actors return to [[RoleReprise reprise their roles]] in cameo appearances, suggesting that at least the BroadStrokes of their series may be canon. ''Daredevil'' is scheduled to be revived sometime in the Multiverse Saga with the same lead actors, but it's not clear just how much of the Netflix run remains in canon.

How did I miss this edit? That quote was taken completely and utterly out of context, by - who would've guessed - Dipshit Direct. The *actual* foreword pretty specifically singles out movies and series that came BEFORE the MCU, NOT adjacent. Fox movies, Sony movies, animated series, etc.

With the release of ''Marvel Studios: The Marvel Cinematic Universe — An Official Timeline'', all projects created by Marvel Television before it was folded into Marvel Studios are now no longer considered to be a part of the MCU's "Sacred Timeline". However, Creator/KevinFeige has hedged his bets and said that timelines may "may crash or converge", meaning it is possible for some of these series to be merged back into the main MCU canon in the future.

Grossing more than $29 billion globally across 32 movies, the MCU has become the highest-grossing franchise in cinematic history (a record that is unlikely to ever be disputed -- not even by ''Franchise/StarWars'', which holds a distant second place at over $10 billion), and its wild success has caused a ripple effect, with nearly every studio [[FollowTheLeader looking to build similar interconnected universes]], or at least better develop the intellectual properties that they already have into blockbusters. This, of course, started from an initial partnership with Marvel to reboot the ''Spider-Man'' IP through the MCU, an agreement that began in time for Phase Three of the setting.

It looks like FF is still keeping its release date; even though some of the other dates shifted after it. I'm tentatively putting the films that are now also in 2025 in Phase 6 (even Brave New World, to keep clean year divisions for now). Also moving Look Out For The Little Guy to "Other" while I'm here, rather than have a single-item folder.
