Four years after the Space Shogunate Jark Matter's defeat, the universe of the Kyurangers is back under the control of the Space Federation and still working to rebuild. In the midst of this, a set of Neo Kyutama are stolen by none other than Hammie of the Kyurangers. Hammie is working for Demost, an Apostle of the Genmakuu cult pursued into the World of Kyuranger by Space Squad members Gavan and Shaider, and her seeming turn has her friends split down the middle.

* GoodVsGood: A downplayed conflict, likened by director Koichi Sakamoto to Film/CaptainAmericaCivilWar, arises as a result of Demost forcing Hammie (Chameleon Green) into stealing the Neo Kyutama, making her a wanted criminal in the Space Federation and splitting the Kyurangers into two teams as they disagree over how to approach her, note the conflict is downplayed as both sides have good intentions for her. One consists of Hammie herself and her supporters, Lucky (Shishi Red), Garu (Ookami Blue), Champ (Oushi Black), Spada (Kajiki Yellow) and Kotaro Sakuma (Koguma Skyblue) against the team led by Tsurugi Ohtori (Houou Soldier) who, motivated by concern for both Hammie and the galaxy, intend to take her into custody, which also includes Stinger (Sasori Orange), Balance (Tenbin Gold), Naga Ray (Hebitsukai Silver) and Raptor 283 (Washi Pink). Shou (Ryu Commander) is the only Kyuranger does not participate in the fight which is ultimately broken up by the Space Sheriffs.
* KillAndReplace: Demost kills and disguises himself as Kimiko Naruse, Tsurugi's Presidential assistant.

Then a post-credits scene provides a SequelHook for the next Space Squad, with Touma making Geki and Shu aware that Genmakuu are continuing to commit atrocities in the form of arson. Fortunately, though the Space Squad do not yet realise it, there is a hero who deals with that.
