Out Of Focus deals with episodic storytelling. Since this is a sequel, it's better served under the Demoted To Extra trope.

The Out Of Focus trope deals more with episodic storytelling where character rotate in and out of focus as the ongoing story is told whereas the Demoted To Extra trope applies more to franchises where character focus drops out in the sequel. In this case, Muppets Most Wanted is a sequel to the 2011 film and character focus changes are better served by the Demoted To Extra trope.

The follow-up to 2011's ''Film/TheMuppets'', ''Muppets Most Wanted'' follows... well, Franchise/TheMuppets (who else?) as they tour Europe, only to become ensnared in a caper as they encounter Constantine, a crime boss who bears an incredible resemblance to Kermit. The film sees the return of ''Series/FlightOfTheConchords'' alumni James Bobin and Bret [=McKenzie=], as well as ''Film/TheMuppets'' co-writer Nicholas Stoller. Creator/JasonSegel is completely unaffiliated with this movie. The film stars Creator/RickyGervais, Creator/TinaFey, and Creator/TyBurrell.

* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: Kermit and Piggy in a nutshell. Piggy seems more in love with the ''[[InLoveWithLove concept]]'' of being married to him and Kermit's definitely not as gung-ho to rush into things (this was a minor subplot in the previous film, and a RunningGag through the series), but Constantine's manipulation of Piggy causes her a lot of doubts, and Kermit is seen with a rather...interesting...pin-up of Piggy in his cell. Not to mention ''how'' Kermit manages to tell Constantine off.

** Likewise, Constantine plays Piggy for a fool by pretending to be the willing suitor Kermit usually ''isn't.'' Piggy is really happy to be getting what she wanted...but starts to have second thoughts about it all when it's nearly too late.

** For that matter, the pin-up of Piggy Kermit kept in his cell. Um...that's an awfully racy picture for a kid's movie. (Fun fact, it's actually from the 1996 ''Muppets Parody Calendar'', and is riffing on a Guess Jeans ad with Claudia Schiffer.)

** Dominic and Constantine choreograph the Muppets' performances to create enough racket to cover up their breaking into secure facilities. Later, Kermit and Walter choreograph the prisoners' musical revue act to cover up their collective breakout from prison ''directly from the stage'', in full view of the gulag authorities.

* IdiotHoudini: The Muppets get away with harboring an escaped convict without even knowing it.

** The Muppets harbor an escaped convict, which even if you don't know they're a criminal is a big no-no, and are never punished for it.
Is there an issue? Send a MessageReason:
I'm trying very hard to keep these from not coming across as "complain-y", and Brian KT's edits are just as biased as mine apparently are. The Muppets are treated as though they are saints in this movie, but between them shoving him aside for Dominic and not noticing that Constantine had stolen his identity, they DID treat Kermit poorly.

* WithFriendsLikeThese: Even if they were negatively influenced by Constantine and Dominic, Kermit's friends (aside from Walter and Animal) still treat him rather inconsiderably. They get better, though.
