* ClosetKey: Frida seems like this for Mia at first, since she's engaged to Tim. It's {{subverted}} later though as Mia shows such experience having sex with Frida that she realizes this can't have been her first time with a woman. When she asks, Mia admits its true, she has been with a woman in the past, but didn't tell Tim or anyone else.

* SympatheticAdulterer: Frida and Mia are both portrayed as very guilty after having sex together, torn between their existing partners and each other. Before confessing she cheated to her partner Elin, Frida can be seen watching an old video of herself saying she would never cheat and loathes it with a guilty expression. Mia later also does the same with her fiance Tim. Neither he nor Elin are sympathetic at all though, as you might expect.

* NoBisexuals: Inverted, really. Everyone in the know suggests Mia is bisexual rather than a lesbian when they learn she's attracted to Frida but also engaged to Tim. Only her dad used “homosexual” in reference to her (denying that she's one).

Mia is happily engaged to Tim, planning their marriage for the near future. In the meantime, her father is getting remarried to Elizabeth. As both their families get together, Mia is introduced to Elizabeth's daughter Frida, who's a lesbian. To the dismay of both, they are instantly smitten, while Frida has a partner as well.

After succumbing to their mutual attraction, kissing and having sex, Mia guiltily goes home earlier. Their attraction remains though, and the two are continually drawn to each other after this while struggling against this. Before long, others find out and they must deal with their feelings for good.

* AmbiguouslyAbsentParent: Frida's father isn't mentioned in the film, but her mother is single as she's getting married to Lasse.
* AmbiguouslyBi: Elizabeth and Frida suggest that Mia is bisexual, having fallen in love with the latter while also being engaged to Tim. Mia doesn't say (or perhaps know) what her orientation is, though she admits her attraction to women.
* BisexualLoveTriangle: Mia is happily engaged to Tim at the beginning, then finds herself suddenly attracted to Frida, her soon to be sister-in-law. They kiss and then have sex, which makes her feel quite guilty. Mia agonizes about what to do. [[spoiler:She eventually chooses Frida.]]
* ButIWouldReallyEnjoyIt: Mia really wants Frida, but after the two have sex she's wracked with guilt and doesn't want to leave her fiance Tim at first either.
* ClosetGay: Mia is engaged to Tim at the beginning, but likes women too. She never told him or her family about this however, before she meets Frida and they fall for each other.
