* ''Comments'': If your eyes don't at least mist up at the end of this, you're heartless.
** @/AnonymousMcCartneyfan: This story has an excellent tragedy to comic-relief ratio.
** Anon: It's gone. Not even in the Wayback Machine. Anyone got a copy?
*** @/LooneyToons: I do, I just need to get it hosted somewhere. (Update: The link above now points to a zip file containing the fic that I am hosting on my own website.)

* ''Comments'': Too many fan writers seem to forget Kagato's throwaway line in the OVA series about how Mihoshi was once far more impressive, but is now burnt out. This fic explores ''why'' Mihoshi might be burnt out, and in the process turns the TV continuity relationship between Kiyone and Mihoshi on its head -- and how it affects Kiyone when it happens. A good solid read with a happy ending that avoids being sappy.

* ''Comments'': A nifty in depth look into a world typically neglected by fanfic writers in favor of the [[SeriousBusiness 'superiority']] of the OVA verse. The author shows that with a little imaginative push, TenchiUniverse can be just as much a breeding ground for excellent story telling as the OVA's...perhaps even more so without the weight of AllThereInTheManual getting in the way.

* ''Comments'': Shows many interesting character interpretation and plotholes. A lot more heartwarming that it seems.

* ''Comments'': When people say there are no good {{lemon}}s, show them this fic and tell them to stuff it. The sex scenes are superbly written (as is the rest of the fic), the characterization of every ''Tenchi'' character is as good as the actual series itself (maybe even better), and the story points out both the positives and negatives of the two potential relationships facing Tenchi; [[spoiler:for example, it notes that while Tenchi wouldn't have to spend the rest of his life on Jurai if he settled down on Earth with Ryoko, Ayeka could actually bear Tenchi's children -- which Ryoko can't]]. To this day, this is This Troper's all time favorite Tenchi fanfic (and his favorite fanfic ''period''), partially because [[spoiler:of who Tenchi ends up with at the end]].
** All of which makes it sadder that this is an OrphanedSeries which has not been touched upon since 1998... and just when hints of a new adventure arc had been added!

* ''Comments'': This fanfic actually treats the borderline CrackPairing of Tenchi and Mihoshi with respect and actually makes a persuasive case about why it might work between them. But even ignoring the shipping aspects, the conspiracy/invasion plot is more than able to stand on its own, as are the original characters that Sommer introduces as antagonists.

* ''Comments'': Tenchi is written beautifully -- his role as an UnwantedHarem protagonist has begun to cause him significant stress, which is expressed extraordinarily well; even when the character appears alone, he seems to exude weariness without it have been written straight-out. It's almost a sort of deconstruction -- how would the sudden arrival of a large group of eccentric, flashy individuals affect someone whose personality was relatively ''normal''? The final epiphany is surprising, yet in the end makes sense in a sort of neat and simple way.
** @/{{Night}}: Meanwhile, over here, I'm going to disagree with basically everything said. This fic is ostentatious, dragging the reader through mountains of PurpleProse and subjecting you to some particularly bad metaphors and analogies along the way. Tenchi does seem to be weary, very weary, of all the goings-on, but everything starts to fall apart when you read the confrontation between Ryoko and Washu. The author tries very hard to play up Washu's side of the story and paint Ryoko as irrational, but the basic strangeness of the setup (Ryoko has traditionally responded to very comprehensible motives, Washu has always been rather madcap) and the fact that [[StrawmanHasAPoint in spite of the author both sides are correct]] destroy the scene. The story never recovers from this realization that the author cannot be trusted to present a fair treatment of his characters.
