** @/MrMagi - YMMV a bit on this. This troper personally thinks this the fic had an excellent idea, but thinks it wasn't done as well as it could. While the story is written fairly well, the characters comes off as OOC a bit too much personally and the romance angle is a little too rushed. Plus [[spoiler: Naruto beating Gaara by using wind and demon chakra alone seemed too unrealistic. However that might be because the author breezed through what Naruto learned]]. It's certainly not too bad a read, but the story ruins its immersion a bit.

** The "professional novelist" part doesn't seem to be noticeable in the text. The story has quite a few awkward sentences. For example: "The first lot of them were bad enough but this was just pathetic, did the whole village hate him." and "Well whether you believe me is up to you, but[...]". The last one is from an official mission letter from the Hokage. Also, I think it overdoes the drama way too much. It implies that the Third is horribly incompetent. He has at least 3 big reasons to take good care of Naruto: his promise to the Fourth, Naruto's status as Jinchuuriki, and his relationship with Naruto. It's entirely unrealistic that he'd allow Naruto to get routinely beat up and almost murdered. As the Hokage, he's more than got the ability to make heads roll, perhaps even literally. What he can't do is force people to like Naruto, but he's more than able to protect him from physical abuse. I can accept that Naruto might have got attacked once or twice, but not that it the Hokage allows it to happen constantly.

It frequently takes the challenges Naruto faces to BeyondTheImpossible levels where it's somewhat unbelievable that the author claims that the story will be finished in under 20 total chapters. Also with so many high level enemies entering the fray early I never suspected the above spoilered death to occur from that opponent, which makes it all that more shocking when it actually occurs.
