When Rudy and Penny's school-mate Mint finds his way into Chalk Zone, Skrawl convinces him that it's just an elaborate video game. How can they fight someone who won't restrain himself [[VideoGameCrueltyPotential because he thinks everything is just data]]?

* EvenEvilHasStandards: Mint is not happy when Skrawl orders him to get Rudy in trouble in the real world. Mint sees this as poor form. He still ends up doing it, albeit somewhat reluctantly. He admits to Rudy and Penny later that he isn't proud of what he did and even tries to even things out a little by informing them of what he had done in ChalkZone during their absence.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Skrawl tries to act civil and friendly towards Mint, but it easily fails and a few times, comes off as a bit bossy. At one point, he gets so angry that he completely drops his nice facade altogether and [[spoiler:outright attacks Mint]]. [[spoiler: This begins Mint's suspicions regarding Skrawl's statements about ChalkZone]].

* ObliviouslyEvil: As nasty as Mint his and as cruel as his actions are, he really doesn't know that ChalkZone is real. Thus, he is unaware of just how devastating his actions really are.

* TookALevelInBadass: Penny. In one chapter, she takes on Mint alone when Rudy is not able to come into ChalkZone. Mint doesn't take her seriously and is prepared to send her running home crying. He gets the shock of his life when Penny bests him using a tricky aerial trap maneuver, catches Mint, and takes his chalk away. She defeats Mint on her first try. To drive home the point, it took Rudy, the more experienced creator of the two, about four times before he won a round against Mint.

* VillainousBreakdown: Mint temporarily goes into a psychotic state during the fight on Future Dome. Unlike his other battles, where he is usually more collected, he becomes comparatively deranged here and doesn't think through his actions very well. This nearly gets him defeated and kicked out of ChalkZone.

* [[spoiler:AnArmAndALeg: During the fight with Skrawl, Mint ends up losing part of his left leg and needs a prosthetic. All things considered, he takes it well, and accepts it as punishment for his previous ignorance and refusal to listen to Rudy and Penny before things got worse]].

* CharacterDevelopment: Throughout much of the story, Mint is a {{Jerkass}} who treats the trio, especially Snap, like they are lower than dirt. [[spoiler:After his Heel-Face Turn, he becomes a valuable ally willing to make up for his mistakes and ultimatley becomes friends with the trio.]]

Then, when she speaks to Rudy in her office, she reveals that she believes he tainted the water that made everyone act so childish and seeks revenge by purposely getting him into trouble, lying to his folks in order to make the punishment more severe. She almost gets away with it. At the end of the story, a reformed Mint manages to blackmail her into telling the truth and to leave Rudy and Penny alone regarding the quarry issue.
* TookALevelInKindness: Mint becomes much nicer towards the trio, especially Snap, after his Heel-Face Turn.

* MoralEventHorizon: Mint did a lot of terrible things, but the moment he crossed the line was when he broke Snap's back. What makes this worse is that Snap was defenseless; Mint could have just subdued him, but instead he decided to attack an unarmed zoner. Needless to say, Rudy and Penny did not take this well.
