* AlternateUniverse: Nanoha got injured at 16, not 12 like in canon. This is an author-induced change invoked partially to reduce the squick factor in the [[MayDecemberRomance Nanoha/Mamoru]] pairing and partially to assist with the problem of two middle-school students living on their own and not attending school (high school being quasi-optional in Japan).
* AndTheAdventureContinues: Nanoha, Fate, Arf, Hayate, and the Wolkenritter continue their TSAB missions in the ending.

* BouquetToss: Minako would have caught it, if she hadn't [[spoiler: immediately rushed to Nanoha's side after her collapse]].

** Hotaru is willing to heal anyone she sees get hurt even though she knows that most of her patients hate her and will only hate her more afterwards. This behavior doesn't change even after learning that [[spoiler:due to her CastFromHitPoints problem, continuing to do so could result in her ending up crippled or dead.]]

** Nanoha, meet Jadeite. Jadeite, meet Nanoha's [[WaveMotionGun Divine Buster]].

* ReincarnationRomance: {{Deconstructed|Trope}}, as Nanoha's persona [[IHatePastMe does not mesh well]] with Serenity's, which only makes sense considering that the only reason that Nanoha ended up as Serenity's reincarnation was because Queen Serenity [[ForWantOfANail botched the Reincarnation spell]]. As a result, she has nothing in common with Mamoru/Endymion, leaving them unable to re-create their past lives' relationship. [[spoiler:It's not going to happen because Nanoha has decided to [[ScrewDestiny Screw]] [[IncrediblyLamePun Fate]].]]

* ForWantOfANail: According to the prologue, it seems the whole reason that 'Princess Serenity' was reborn as Nanoha rather than Usagi (who does exist, just not as anyone significant) was because Queen Serenity flubbed the reincarnation spell due to her injuries.

* PlotHole: It's a downplayed case due to the ForWantOfANail. In canon ''Sailor Moon'' it took a year at the very most (assuming anime canon, in the manga it took much less than that) for Beryl to accumulate enough power to awaken Metallia even when Sailor Moon was foiling her plans left and right. The reason for this is that [[FridgeBrilliance Beryl's goal is two-fold: get Endemyion for her own and annihilate Serenity. Thus, she subconsciously foils her own plans because she has no idea who Serenity is and doesn't want her goal to be half-done.]]

* SillyReasonForWar: The TSAB's opinion of the events that destroyed the Moon Kingdom; a love triangle.

[[spoiler: The Mistress Nine parasite is identified and removed before it gets entrenched deep enough in Hotaru's soul to actively fight back, Germatoid is killed attempting to stop Shamal from doing this and his action leads to the police investigating the school which leads to his assistant's defeat at the hands of Makoto when she tries to stop the police. Thus the Death Busters' operations are dismantled before they're even equipped to be a threat. Even Pharaoh 90 is dealt with; Fate informs Chrono of its location and he sends a fleet to blast it into dust.]]

* IllGirl: Nanoha is still recovering from her wounds. This means she is cared for and protected by Fate. [[spoiler: They are healed by Hotaru Tomoe.]]

* CombinedEnergyAttack: [[spoiler: Moonlight Breaker is created by combining Raising Heart and the Ginzuisho. This is an attack that takes Starlight Breaker UpToEleven. To make it MORE accurate it takes the Starlight Breaker from [[Anime/MagicalGirlLyricalNanohaStrikerS StrikerS Episode 25]] (Already Starlight Breaker UpToEleven) and take [[NoKillLikeOverkill THAT]] UpToEleven.]]

* CriticalResearchFailure: An InUniverse example. [[spoiler:In the final chapter, one of the [[{{Mooks}} youma]], who happens to be capable of VoluntaryShapeshifting, uses Reinforce's form to get close to Hayate and Signum. Unfortunately for her, she exposes herself by addressing them as "you two" while Signum is in unison with Rein Zwei. Rein Zwei calls her out on it, and Signum takes her out.]]

* AwesomeByAnalysis: The TSAB considers the Senshi this. They managed to fight against a foe with superior power and numbers on their own, with little in the way of supplemental aid, little-to-no training, and no relief, for ''over a year'' before they finally received reinforcements from TSAB agents who were alerted to the situation. Fate doesn't think that she could last a few ''weeks'' in a similar situation.

* WorfBarrage: [[spoiler: Not only does Metallia NoSell the combination of Starlight Breaker, Zamber Plasma, and Ragnarok, but she also ''eats'' it and became even ''stronger''.]]

* DidntThinkThisThrough: Discussed when Nanoha confronts Queen Serenity and points out that several things could have gone horribly wrong during Princess Serenity's constant gallivanting to Earth to visit Endymion. She could have been assassinated by her enemies, or Endymion could have taken advantage of her to turn her into a puppet queen, and the fact that reality did not ensue is no excuse.

* RealityEnsues:
** This, along with PoorCommunicationKills, drives the first part of the story. Luna attempts to get into contact with Nanoha through Fate, but doesn't bother to explain anything aside from the fact that she wants to talk with Nanoha, since she's used to having the authority to request such things with no questions asked. Thus, Fate just assumes that it's just unwanted trouble for the recovering Nanoha that can be passed to the [=TSAB=] and that Luna is a nutcase when she gets more persistent and still doesn't give her a coherent explanation.

Luna attempts to make contact, but is brushed off by Fate, who has made it her personal mission that ''nothing'' interrupt Nanoha's recovery. ** Luna never bothers to explain to Fate ''why'' she needs to talk to Nanoha. it is [[JustifiedTrope justified]] when Artemis later explains that was how he and Luna used to do things back during the Moon Kingdom; they're used to having the authority to get things done without being questioned.
