* AdaptationalHeroism: In the original game, Garon would easily turn on his blood children the minute he thought they were a threat. In this story, [[spoiler:he is still acting out of a twisted love for them, raising Nerr in order to sacrifice her to Anankos so that his own children wouldn't have to suffer the same fate]].

* MythologyGag: In Chapter 22, Gunter drops a reference to the [[VideoGame/FireEmblemGenealogyOfTheHolyWar Jugdrali]] noble houses.

* AdaptationalJerkass: Ryoma is far more hostile towards Nerr in Cyrkensia than in canon.

** In ''The Falling Light'' and ''The Ephemeral Equinox'', Takumi's level of verbal hostility towards Nerr comes dangerously close to his treatment of Corrin in canon ''Conquest''. In the former, he only starts to try to reach out to her after meeting the Rainbow Sage, compared to his demeanor becoming more reasonable after Mokushu in canon ''Birthright''.

* AdaptationNameChange: Downplayed. Antony hasn't had human contact in so long that he can barely remember his own name, and introduces himself as "Ant".

** Chapter 17 gives Archanea a physical location in relation to the unnamed continent ''Fates'' takes place on.
