* RedemptionRejection: Pegasus makes a personal appeal to Tanizaki's political officer Nagai to turn against his boss, even reminding Nagai of his dreams as a child. Nagai refuses, claiming [[SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids he grew up knowing how the real world works]]. Sometime after his rejection, Nagai ends up paying the price when he ends up becoming a puppet for the Nameless One, leading up to being sacrificed as part of a ritual to summon the entity.

* {{Bookends}}: ''Dark Lords'' begins with Ryouga finding his way to an injured Beneda and ''Ascendant'' ends with him finding his way to the opening of her new clinic.

* InstantlyProvenWrong: While tracking down Hotaru following her capture by Davidson (and her subsequent rescue), Uranus makes mention of the "knight-in-shining-armor routine" Ryouga has going with her. Pluto refutes this, saying that there was no indicator of things progressing in that direction and that Saturn would be able to avoid those sorts of entanglements. The scene immediately cuts to Ryouga and Saturn having a moment following Davidson's defeat, which leaves Uranus amused and Pluto looking as if she has a headache.

** Jadeite was delivering a BadassBoast about how powerful the DD Girls were and that he was confident that they were strong enough to defeat the Dark Lords. He gets cut off by their limp bodies getting thrown at his feet.

* HazyFeelTurn: The assorted Dark Kingdom monsters go through this after they are rescued from Tanizaki's forces. While they believe that the "Dark Lords" are on the level, especially when compared to their former masters, aside from Jimenko they have yet to extend the same level of fondness to any of the Sailor Senshi. In addition, they are still in the dark about the truth behind the ruse Beneda and the Wrecking Crew orchestrated and believe that [[spoiler:pairing the Senshi up with the "Dark Lords"]] would be a good way to tear their old enemies apart from within.
* HeelFaceTurn: Beneda, who gradually begins to appreciate the strange humans who have helped her, most of all Ryouga.

* DefiantToTheEnd: [[spoiler: Genma. His knowing smile and complete belief that Ranma would weather any and all of Tanizaki's assaults against him, up to and including the Wyrmspawn, is enough to make the businessman completely snap.]]

* EarnYourHappyEnding: The heroes on both sides of things go through the wringer in ''Ascendant'', but it's worth it. [[spoiler:Ranma has kids with Shampoo and Akane, Ryoga has a daughter with Hotaru, they're all friends with Chibi-Usa, the world is at peace, Beneda is opening her own clinic, and a lost Ryoga manages to find his way there in time to celebrate his opening.]]

* WhipItGood: One of the martial artists hired by Tanizaki specialized in this.

* TheGreatestStoryNeverTold: [[spoiler: The Interlude counts as this, full stop. The Senshi have no idea that they were only able to succeed in taking out the Dark Kingdom because they had so much help behind the scenes. They spent the entire story thinking that they were humanity's only hope, never knowing that the people of Earth had amassed [[TheCavalry an ARMY]] to fight back and [[YouAreNotAlone ease their burden]]. They don't know that the reason they were able to just march up to the enemy base unmolested was because the entire Dark Kingdom was busy fighting off said [[BadassArmy invading army]]. They don't know that the reason Beryl didn't just [[ZergRush swarm them with mooks]] was because they were all either tied up or killed by the army, before Ranma killed off the majority of them. They don't know that the reason they weren't faced with more EliteMooks than the DD Girls was because Beryl needed them to fend off all the Grandmasters that were stomping her forces flat. That the reason Beryl didn't kill Sailor Moon [[AsskickingEqualsAuthority by herself]] was because she'd been mortally wounded earlier by [[OurDragonsAreDifferent Herb]] and [[NeverMessWithGranny Soap]]. Or that the reason that Sailor Moon was able to free Endymion from his [[BrainWashed brainwashing]] was because all the previously mentioned events forced her to wake him up before he was completely under her spell. And the Senshi have no idea at all about the sacrifices that were made for their sakes.]]

** This is why Cologne sent Mousse to perform a HeelFaceMole, as the Dark Kingdom was a bigger threat than Beneda.

* BigDamnVillains: Played with; "Dark Lord" Ranma saved the Senshi when the DD Girls turned on them.
