* DraconicHumanoid: What Itsuki’s “heroic costume” entails. While he can and has transformed more fully, his preferred form, at least for dealing with regularly-shaped folks, is this.

** Itsuki Marumaru (まるまる一希) “〇〇” & “One & Only Hope.”
** Yōsei Kurokage (黒い影妖精) “Black Shadow Fairy”
** Tiffany Zumwalt - “Manifestation of God by the Forest”

** Fumiko Sato – Rikudo’s (non-canon) twin sister whose physical appearance, as well as her hero costume, are a strong nod to another [[Characters/DragonBallAndroid21 powerful female fighter.]]
** Katsura Mafune – Aside from being named after [[Film/TerrorOfMechagodzilla another cyborg]], her Quirk also seems to be a nod towards a certain [[Franchise/FullmetalAlchemist blonde half-pint]].
** Tiffany Zumwalt – Her appearance seems to take after [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion a certain redhead]] and her Quirk, is outright called “Absolute Territory.”
** Yōsei Kurokage – His Quirk is, essentially, an exact copy of Tsuyu’s insomuch that where her powers are revolved around different species of frogs, his are based on a variety of insects. His hero costume is also a nod to a certain [[Franchise/KamenRider insect-themed hero.]]

* ShockAndAwe: Plenty of the latter usually follows after the former whenever Itsuki decides to get serious.

* SophisticatedAsHell: Fumiko is this so long as she’s not under the effects of her Quirk, particularly when threatening villains with extreme bodily harm that Mom0 notes as likely breaking more than a few laws of the Geneva Convention.

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Shoji and Koda both have front row seats to [[spoiler: No. 130 uses their Black Hole to kill an entire group of villains in the Flood Zone they were dropped into without a hint of remorse or hesitation.]]

* SophisticatedAsHell: Fumiko is this so long as she’s not under the effects of her Quirk, particularly when threatening villains with extreme bodily harm that Mom notes as likely breaking more than a few laws of the Geneva Convention.

* BizarroUniverse: Much to Itsuki’s surprise, Franchise/StarTrek is classic literature alongside Franchise/StarWars, which is also apparently extremely popular in Japan for not-so-obvious reasons, while Literature/Animorphs is a multi-season television show that earned a theatrical epilogue.

* RealityEnsues: Several instances throughout.
** Hagakure ends up getting knocked unconscious during the entrance exam. Itsuki himself only noticed due to the encroaching dust cloud moving around her.
** Getting a high score on the ball throw is actually quite common as the device measures the probable distance the ball could reach not the actual. Doesn’t really stop the class from freaking out when Itsuki’s toss may have his ball impacting against the moon while Ocacho AND Tiffany both score infinity.
** Contrary to how things went down in canon, the attack at the USJ does have a casualty count. Admittedly, a major of it was the fault of Shigaraki and the Nomu but a fair share were casualties of [[spoiler:No. 13’s Black Hole and Itsuki going on a rampage.]]

* NightmareFuel: A few very notable disturbing examples include unmarked spoilers!
** The Nomu that is brought to the USJ and is immediately made out to be a far greater threat than the one in canon for the fact that it is none other than the MHA equivalent to Hedorah the Smog Monster.
** The Shigaraki that shows up at the USJ is not the same one as in canon and is, in her own fashion, far worse. This one willingly and quite literally cuts down anyone that stands between her and her Aizawa. Those that aren’t felled by her swords soon succumb to her Quirk, which is hinted to be a gaseous equivalent to Tomura’s Decay that in higher doses can melt a person down to their bones. Lighter doses, at the very least, can result in severe lung damage.

* SelfInsertFic: Itsuki is noted as being a self-insert insomuch that he has memories not of a life previously lived, but of reading/watching the events set to transpire in the [[Manga/MyHeroAcademia My Hero Academia]] universe as they would occur without him. As such, he never refers to his previous life as his but rather “That One’s.”

* WouldHurtAChild: Shigaraki’s entire reason for invading the USJ, and by extension U.A., was so that she would have the chance to kill “The Heir” [[spoiler: Izuku Midoriya.]]

* CreepyGood: Itsuki’s “hero costume” is rather terrifying and isn’t helped any that he doesn’t so much smile as bares his very sharp teeth.

** Whomever is working for The League of Villains inside of U.A. was able to grab far more information on the students of Class 1-A than in canon, which allowed them to specifically draft teams whose Quirks could trump, if not outright overcome their specific targets.
** Despite this massive knowledge gain, Itsuki shocking the heck out of Kurogiri ended up sending some students to entirely different areas than what was originally planned and thus had an easier time handling their opponents.
** [[spoiler: Rather than a Nomu that was, in essence, a monstrous Expy of All Might himself, couple with some high-speed regeneration, the one that was brought to the USJ was an Expy of Hedorah. With a body composed of acidic sludge which devoured anything in its path and whose every breath not only loosed dangerous poisons in the air but could, and did, melt flesh from bone. Unfortunately, it came face-to-snout with the one student capable of making it feel pain.]]

* BodyHorror: Par for the course for most Nomu but for the one that attacks the USJ, it is heavily hinted that not only is the Sludge Villain a major contributor to its overall form and mentality, but it also has [[spoiler: Characters/MyHeroAcademiaClass1A Aoyama’s Navel Laser as well]].
