Taylor gets what she wanted for the team when they suffer a CurbStompBattle that forces her to directly intervene.
* BoomerangBigot: [[spoiler:Godfrey is a Plus Human with Master abilities, but despises other Plus Humans. This is in large part because of PowerIncontinence; he had no idea he ''was'' a Plus Human and was using his powers on his own wife until her health took a turn for the worst.]]
* BrokenFaceplate: During Hiro's fight with Headhunter, his helmet partially shatters. [[spoiler:Taylor realizes after she fights him off that Headhunter didn't finish off Hiro because he saw his face.]]
* CassandraTruth: When discussing who Taylor is while she's recovering in the hospital, Fred proposes the theory that she's actually a criminal warlord who could control people and was offed because she was growing too powerful. Of course, this being [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Fred]], nobody believes him.
* CombatPragmatist: Taylor is of the opinion that there really is no such thing as a fair fight, and she's willing to use every dirty trick in the book if it means she'll make it out alive. She actually tries to push this mindset onto the team.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: Arthur Cheng is already established to be a corrupt CEO when Taylor sees a live news feed of him exiting a trial after being found innocent of corruption, with Cheng looking quite smug about his victory. The Jubilation Arc would also reveal him to be one of the Triad's financial backers.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Fred may be a goofball and a spazz, but he's shockingly insightful. After the CurbStompBattle involving Headhunter, he does some "visual training" in his head and thinks up scenarios involving the team. When presenting his report to the team and Taylor, they're shocked by how detailed and ''accurate'' it is, with Taylor noting how analysis on each team member is color-coded.
* CurbStompBattle: Headhunter subjects this to the team. He trounces them with horrific ease, having studied their abilities and weaponry extensively before battling them. The only reason he doesn't succeed in finishing them off is because [[spoiler:Dubeni discovers Hero is Hiro]] and Taylor fending him off long enough for the others to escape.
* DistaffCounterpart: Downplayed. Prophet is initially made out to be the "Contessa" of the [=BH6=] world by virtue of being a pre-cog. [[spoiler:Unlike Contessa's absurdly broken "Path to Victory", however, Prophet's power requires him to actively brute force the future he's aiming for.]]
* TheDreaded: Even after five years have passed, [[spoiler:Contessa remains this for Taylor. When she sees the woman in her home, she's instantly reminded of their last meeting where Contessa put two bullets in her head and left her for dead. Unsurprisingly, seeing her again throws Taylor into a panic attack]].
* ExactWords: [[spoiler:Contessa]] tells Taylor to go to Tamalpais no later than 8:57 PM, and that failing to show up will result in unpleasant consequences for her loved ones. While this sounds like a threat at first, [[spoiler:Contessa was actually referring to how Taylor would lose the chance of reuniting with her old friends and her father]].
* ExperiencedProtagonist: Applies to both the Big Hero 6 and Taylor, with the latter having two years of experience in comparison to the team (when Taylor is fully cognizant and starts physical therapy, it's been half a year since her arrival in their world). It's seeing how inexperienced the Big Hero 6 are (in comparison to her) and how they treat heroics that makes Taylor decide to "toughen them up".
* FailureGambit: [[spoiler:The conflict with Godfrey was intentionally set up to fail by Prophet, having created a scenario where Godfrey would ultimately lose while Prophet and his friends would be given protection from those seeking to use or harm them for their own gains.]]
* GenerationXerox: Taylor initially compares the Big Hero 6 to the Triumvirate during the Golden Age of Parahumans before Vikare's death and Cauldron began delving into shadier methods to save the world. Hiro in particular reminds her of Earth Bet's Hero given their popularity, tech specialties, and being TheHeart of the team.
* GoneHorriblyRight: In a case of BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor, Taylor's attempts to expose the Big Hero 6 to the more dangerous threats of San Fransokyo ends up putting them in Headhunter's crosshairs. His brutal dismantling of the group ultimately opens their eyes to how outclassed and reliant they've become on Hiro, and Headhunter himself was wholly willing to kill them all. [[spoiler:The only reason he didn't was because he realized Hero was Hiro and Taylor fending him off.]]
* GrewBeyondTheirProgramming: Baymax was an already sophisticated AI to begin with, but it really says something when [[spoiler:he somehow "Triggers" and becomes a Plus Human]].
* HowIsThatEvenPossible: [[spoiler:Baymax suddenly turning into a Plus Human baffles Taylor. What baffles her, even more, is the fact that Baymax is actively rejecting whatever blueprints and "advice" his passenger is giving him, something she didn't even think was possible.]]
* JustAKid: Although some of the Big Hero 6's roster are much older in comparison to the teenage Hiro Hamada, this is how Taylor sees them. In contrast to her brutal life as a cape back on Earth Bet, they never had to deal with hardcore villains and superpowered criminals like Lung or the Slaughterhouse Nine.
* LighterAndSofter: The [=BH6=] world at large is this for Taylor, as there are no monstrous world-ending threats like Scion or the Endbringers. This remains even after [[spoiler:Plus Humans start cropping up, as the worst Taylor and the Big Hero 6 have to face is a Master looking to make Plus Humans out to be a world threat]].
* MamaBear: It will be a cold day in hell before anyone hurts Cass' beloved nephew and his friends. [[spoiler:After becoming a Plus Human with the same powers as ''Alexandria'', she has more than enough power to back up her words.]]
* MissionControl: Taylor initially becomes this at Fred's suggestion, monitoring the team's patrols and informing them of crimes in progress. She eventually uses this to her advantage by forcing a conflict between the Big Hero 6 and the Triad to help "toughen" the team in the hopes they'll realize exactly what they're getting themselves into.
* NotAGame: As far as Taylor is concerned, the Big Hero 6 are a bunch of kids "playing" superheroes. While she admits they're a well-knit group and are doing a great job at protecting San Fransokyo, they haven't dealt with actual hardcore criminals. Part of the reason she becomes their MissionControl is to help make them realize what it is they're getting themselves into and setting them up to come into conflict with the Triad.
* PowerIncontinence: [[spoiler:Paul Godfrey is a Master Plus Human who can make "suggestions" that anyone who listens to his words will be compelled to follow. He unknowingly used it on his wife, having not realized he was a Plus Human at the time. When his innocent "suggestion" that she have a nice day clashes with the difficulties she has at work, the struggle to follow Godfrey's "suggestion" lands her in the hospital.]]
* ProperlyParanoid: Right off the bat, Gogo doesn't trust Taylor, citing the fact that someone went out of the way to shoot her in the back of the head ''twice'' as a good indicator she's wrapped up in something dangerous. It's for this reason that she warns Taylor to stay away from Hiro. Taylor, for her part, actually approves of this.
* RedHerring: Initially, "Mercury" is presented in story as being a potential Endbringer in the making or the [=BH6=] world's equivalent to a Case-53. [[spoiler:It isn't until the doctor in charge realizes from Prophet's drawings that "Mercury" isn't a non-human entity, but a ''two-year-old Plus Human''.]]
* SecretKeeper:
** At the start of the story, Taylor becomes this for the team, having learned about them from Hiro as she was recovering. Fred decides to take this a step further and advocates for Taylor to be their MissionControl, or F.O.T.W (Fly On The Wall) as he puts it.
** [[spoiler:Headhunter learns Hero is Hiro Hamada after smashing the latter's faceplate. Taylor threatens him to stay quiet, though it's rendered moot in that Dubeni doesn't have any intention of leaking Hiro's secret identity.]]
* TheStinger: The story ends with Taylor [[spoiler:receiving a visit from Contessa, telling her to Tamalpais, which leads to Taylor reuniting with her father]].
* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Although Taylor surviving two point-blank headshots to the back of her skull is nothing short of a miracle, her brain gets so messed up that she can't recognize basic human interactions, much less ''words and language''. Similarly, spending the majority of her time recovering from the experience leaves her so physically weak she has to go through six months of physical therapy.
* TimeSkip: Between the first and third chapter, Taylor spends several months recovering from Contessa's gunshots, forced to re-learn not only social interactions but even how to ''speak'' and recognize words. By the time Taylor becomes more cognizant, she notices Hiro's grown much taller than she last remembers him being.[[note]]Taylor's first meeting with Hiro is during the climax of the film[[/note]].
* TookALevelInBadass: After their brutal defeat at Headhunter's hands, the team realizes their old methods won't work anymore and rely too much on Hiro to maintain their equipment and decide to strengthen up. [[spoiler:The most blatant example, however, is Baymax after the marshmallow robot somehow becomes a Plus Human and turns into a Tinker.]]
* TookALevelInKindness: Gogo is initially antagonistic towards Taylor and warns her to stay away from Hiro, fearing she might endanger him. She defrosts slightly after Taylor saves them from Headhunter. By the time of the TimeSkip, she's as chummy with Taylor as she is with the rest of the team.
* UnstablePoweredChild: [[spoiler:"Mercury" is ultimately revealed to be a Plus Human; two-year-old Su-Wei. The reason for her behavior isn't that she's running and BlueAndOrangeMorality, but that she's little more than a ''child''.]]
