Really no need to list every obscure build someone came up with. Since it\'s common practice to tag a punny name to a new build when you present him for evaluation, such a list would be endless.

** Big T - The Tarrasque, one of the strongest monsters that is included in most editions of D&D. Often a standard to compare a character's battle prowess is beating Big T (though not killing it, because that requires a caster with ''wish'' or ''miracle'' to finish off once it's down).

* ''DungeonsAndDragons (Other)''

to:

\n* ''DungeonsAndDragons (Other)''** Big T - The Tarrasque, one of the strongest monsters that is included in most editions of D&D. Often a standard to compare a character's battle prowess is beating Big T (though not killing it, because that requires a caster with ''wish'' or ''miracle'' to finish off once it's down).
** Purple People Eater: The Purple Worm. Named as such because in almost every edition, it is used to showcase the "swallow whole" monster ability.

*** Often used more specifically, as a cleric or druid with a supernaturally-powered melee focus, which easily outshines other melee characters. More team-centric builds can be almost as powerful, but avoid the stigma by making everyone else awesome too.
*** Remember not to mix it up with the standard 'CoD' fan nickname (Which stands for Circle Of Death, which refers to monster with an insane Full Round Attack that can shred even the hardiest fighters if they aren't careful.

** In fact, the majority of ''D&D'' Fan Nicknames are for various types of {{Game Breaker}}s, such as the Cheater of Mystra, the Omniscificer, the King of Smack (and its variants the President and Prime Minister of Smack), and so on. This probably says something about ''D&D'' players.
** Diplomancer: The name for characters who abuse the Diplomacy skill to end any battle, make the BigBad your devoted follower, etc.
*** Notable case: [[http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=943738 the jumplomancer]]. Abusing both rules for jumping and diplomacy, he uses several abilities to jump 370 feet over a minute-long jump - ''which [[MoreThanMindControl makes people fanatical for him]]''.
*** Don't forget the Bluffamancer: a character who uses Bluff to prevent the battle in the first place.
** (Book Of) Weeaboo Fightan Magic - [[MemeticMutation 4Chanism]] for the martial adept system proposed in the ''Tome of Battle: Book of Nine Swords'', which attempted to alleviate the LinearWarriorsQuadraticWizards problem. Usually used to mock the book, but can just as often be used by people who liked the contents who [[InsultBackfire wanted something like this in the first place.]]
** Gish - A character who is [[MagicKnight capable of both magic and close combat]]. Comes from the name for Githyanki fighter-mages.
** Laser Cleric - A 4E cleric who focuses mainly on radiant damage.
*** By that same token, Lightsaber- a weapon that deals radiant damage.
** Sorcadin - A multiclass Paladin/Sorcerer gish. Often chosen for the Paladin's Divine Grace ability (add Charisma bonus to all saves) working well with a Sorcerer's charisma based casting.

** Dark Chaos Shuffle: Abuse of the spells "Embrace the Darkness" (turn any feat you own into an Abyssal Heritor feat) and "Shun the Darkness" (trade Abyssal Heritor feats for regular feats, which don't have to be the ones you lost from Embrace the Darkness in the first place), allowing you to more or less change feats at will. You can combine this with rules from other books like Elder Evils to find ways to "restore" the original feats without losing the benefits of the new ones, creating infinite loops of bonus feats. HilarityEnsues.
** Bucket Healing: The rules for drowning are very poorly written, the halmark of such is that characters who fail to hold their breath underwater are first brought to 0 HP... with no exceptions for someone under 0 HP. This can be exploited for Frenzied Berserkers, who have an ability that lets them take infinite damage while it lasts, then suffer the normal effects of being at whatever HP they currently have when it ends, they thus get from -∞ hit points to 0 by dunking their head in water. A smart DM points out there is no way to stop drowning... until It's Wet Outside (see down), which allows a use of the heal skill to do so.
** Cryohydra Wild Shape: The Frozen Wildshape feat from It's Cold Outside (see down) that allows a character with Wildshape to transform into a magical beast with the [cold] subtype. The only worthwhile thing to use it with (as wildshape doesn't give you any of the abilities that make magical beast or elemental sub typed creatures powerful) is the Cryohydra (an UndergroundMonkey Hydra).

** Rainbow Warsnake: A warmage (caster with a very limited spell list that always knows his entire spell list and can and cast any of them at will as long as he has spell slots left) that takes the Rainbow Servant prestige class (which, at 10th level, adds all cleric spells to your spell list...remember that Cleric, being a "core" class, has new spells added to it in just about every sourcebook...). Can also be pulled off with the Dread Necromancer or Beguiler, but less common because their spell lists are better at the start.

*** Book of Bad Latin: Libris Mortis ([[DidNotDoTheResearch it translates to "Book's Dead", the correct phrase would be "Liber Mortis"]])
*** Book of Not Poison: Book of Exalted Deeds (named because of its inclusion of "special" poisons that good characters can use without penalty). Also: Book of Fluffy Goodness. So much fluff... Also "The Book of Exalted Cheese" because in the hands of a min-maxer, that book is a full of serious Gamebreakers.
*** Complete Crud: Complete Psionics, a book noted for its iffy quality (inconstant fluff, unneeded nerfs, takes a lot of space to repeat small variants of one feat that could easily be done in one, the only thing of any quality from it is a free excerpt.)
*** Complete Cheese: The rushed and poorly playtested Complete Champion contains lots of easily broken stuff. Sometimes applied to Complete Divine as well, which gives some of the better known GameBreaker stuff.

*** Skip Hates Sorcerers: Tome and Blood, an early book made by Skip Williams, where almost all the goodies available in it were much harder to get for sorcerers, seemingly by design.
** Purple People Eater: The Purple Worm. Named as such because in almost every edition, it is used to showcase the "swallow whole" monster ability.

** Schrodinger's Dragon: A character that has taken the 10th level of the Dragon Disciple PrestigeClass. The prestige class requires the user to not be a dragon. The 10th level makes you a dragon, which means you lose the class abilities, so you stop being a dragon, then you become a dragon again...
*** Somehow, the fact that the rule prevents dragons from starting along the class path and does not make you lose class features (and in fact was primarily intended to ensure that characters cannot be half-blue dragon, half-red dragon, half-elf for instance) would indicate that that makes no sense at all.
