Clockwork knew that when Dark Danny eventually escaped his imprisonment in the Fenton Thermos, since he now existed outside of time and didn't have to worry about harming his existence while fighting Danny, Danny wouldn't have the edge he had against him the last time they thought, requiring Clockwork to bring in someone who could do the job. * GenderedOutfit: Sam's ghost costume is actually one of the jumpsuits that Danny wore when he got his powers except with the neckline and boots replaced with a choker and army boots, most of the gloves cut away except the middle finger, [[BareYourMidriff the entire midriff cut away]], and topped off with a coat with laced sleeves. Justified that Sam used one of Danny's suits because they're the same size, though at the same time, Sam gets sort of a guilty thrill about wearing something of her boyfriend's.

* BrutishBull: In the opening of ''Trial By Fire'', Danny and Sam deal with a ghost bull that's rampaging through the city, with Sam lampshading they were about due for one. It combines with OurMinotaursAreDifferent when it stands on two legs and transforms its front legs into arms.

* NamingConventions: To avoid the '[[FailOSuckyname Inviso-Bill]]' incident that Danny went through, Sam decided to create her own super hero name. After trying and rejecting a few, she settled on the name Sam Tasma. WordOfGod is that the names Sam thought up and rejected were [[RealLifeWritesThePlot the same ones he tried and rejected for the same reasons]].
