shapeshift. These include Aldred, Bellina, and Farren (who were Syndicate test subjects), Yurius (presumably due to messing with shapeshifting that went bad), Nino (who has faerie magic), the Summer versions of Mym and Leonidas, Izumo (emissary of Amaterasu), and Emile and Phares (who had pacts that have been broken).

** Eventually, the beast versions of the Agito started being released as "Dragons" that the player can shapeshift into. In terms of the story, they're not the real thing, but just residual mana manifesting as nearly-mindless copies.

** Chapter 23 saw the rise of [[spoiler:Xenos, the Progenitor, thanks to Beren rejecting Euden's friendship and intentionally summoning him. Xenos merely existing allows him to bend reality however he sees fit, and even with the New Alberian group, the Apostles and Angels, and even the power of two Bahamuts, the group can't lay a single scratch on him. Xenos would have slaughtered all the heroes without breaking a sweat if it wasn't for Emile arriving and providing a distraction to allow everyone to escape. Even then, all that did was delay the inevitable, as the heroes still don't have a way to actually fight Xenos.
