* ArtisticLicenseGeography: Invoked throughout. For example, Scotland Yard is actually in Scotland, and Team Layton have to fight through the A1 to get there after The Battle of London. Many locations are also much closer together than they are in reality, such as Team Dark having a non-eventful walk from New York’s Statue of Liberty to China’s Fan Castle. This is justified as a result of Orochi’s fusing of multiple worlds screwing with the geography.

* SimultaneousArcs: All the stories are implied to be taking place across the same time frame, with some cases of continuity popping in, such as how both Team Angle and Team Layton have a battle at Honnoji, the former as their second chapter, and the latter as their fourth, leading to Team Layton entering Honnoji after it’s been heavily damaged by a fire attack in the former battle.

Fanfiction Orochi is a MassiveMultiplayerCrossover fanfic based on the VideoGame/WarriorsOrochi series. The story begins similarly to the first game, with the Demon King Orochi fusing worlds and time periods together, but in this version, he doesn’t stop at the [[VideoGame/DynastyWarriors Three Kingdoms]] and [[VideoGame/SamuraiWarriors Sengoku]] periods, and pulls in many other settings, from different games, anime, films, notorious fanfics, and even some more contemporary real life figures. The plot itself is split into four separate stories, each one following a different team as they fight through the fused world, recruiting allies and facing off with Orochi’s army, and even other forces. The teams in the stories are:

* Team Angle, led by [[Creator/DetsniyOffSkiword Cloud Angle]], who starts with [[VideoGame/KidIcarus Pit]] and [[Anime/DeathNote Misa]] [[RougeAnglesOfSatin Anime]] as his partners.
* Team Layton, led by VideoGame/ProfessorLayton, who starts with [[Anime/DeathNote Watari]] and Creator/BrianBlessed as his partners.
* Team Chaos, led by [[VideoGame/KidIcarusUprising Pandora]], who starts with [[Creator/DetsniyOffSkiword Cloud2]] and [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII Cloud]] [[RougeAnglesOfSatin Strafe]] as her partners.
* Team Dark, led by [[Fanfic/LightAndDarkTheAdventuresOfDarkYagami Dark Yagami]], who starts with [[Anime/DeathNote Naomi Misora]] and [[EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep The Girl From The Bus]] as his allies.

Each story has 8 chapters, each chapter focusing on a single battle the team partakes in as they move to fulfill their own objectives, meeting new allies as they do.

* TheDevilIsALoser: Downplayed in Team Dark’s story when Puyo Puyo’s Satan joins them. While his fighting style is more comedic than the other members of the team, and his dialogue more childish than most other characters, he ends up as more of a BunnyEarsLawyer, and is quite helpful for the team.
* TheLoad: Sara Osborne is this to Team Angle, often getting them into trouble, and generally contributing a lot less than everyone else.
