* NiceToTheWaiter: has said his first job was working as a waiter at a country club. After being disgusted by how rude people could be, he has since always made an effort to be polite, especially to "people kind enough to be serving me food".

* ManOfAThousandVoices: While he hasn't done a large amount of strict voice work (only a few voice overs in documentaries and his roles in ''[[Franchise/DisneyFairies The Pirate Fairy]]'' and ''WesternAnimation/{{Trollhunters}}''), he has been shown in the past to be a pretty adept impressionist, able to imitate almost any voice an interviewer can throw at him, such as Creator/ChrisEvans, Creator/ChrisHemsworth, Owen Wilson, Creator/SamuelLJackson, Cookie Monster, and several others. For the Music/HankWilliams biopic ''Film/ISawTheLight'' he provided his own singing for the role, and once read a letter from Creator/MarlonBrando in Brando's voice. During an appearance on ''Series/TheGrahamNortonShow'', he spent several minutes gushing towards Creator/RobertDeNiro before doing a rendition of De Niro's monologue from ''Film/{{Heat}}'' that is so spot-on that De Niro himself was impressed. And it was put to good use onscreen in ''Series/TheHollowCrown'', with him eerily seeming to become Jeremy Irons when Prince Hal is imitating his father.

* WhatBeautifulEyes: During an interview for the movie ''Literature/WarHorse'', ''Love Actually'' director Richard Curtis commented that his eyes are so piercing that Jeremy Irvine started crying in the scene where Nicholls buys Joey just to "distract people from the blueness." Even more intensified when he has black hair, for example when he plays Loki.
* WolverinePublicity: He made such an impact as Loki that many promotional campaigns for ''Thor: The Dark World'' focused more on him than Chris Hemsworth.

* AwesomeDearBoy: [[invoked]] He enjoys playing Loki so much that he'll appear in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALUCl2p4aFc comedic promos]] and make [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3R9g_VABesA in-character convention appearances]] if it means he gets to get in character and entertain the fans.
* DyeingForYourArt: [[invoked]] From blond curls to Loki's straight black locks. He also did extensive physical preparation for the role; after gaining a great deal of muscle to play Thor, he trimmed down and studied UsefulNotes/{{Capoeira}}, among other things, to play Loki.

* FanNickname: [[invoked]] ''Empire'' Magazine gave him "T Hiddy", and fans sometimes refer to him as "Hiddles".

* RealLife/MeanCharacterNiceActor: [[invoked]]
** He's known to American audiences for playing the villainous Loki, but in interviews, he can't stop beaming about how wonderful it all is and how much he loves the role and his co-stars.
** From Creator/StanLee's Twitter: "And if you want a cooler than cool villain who's also the nicest guy you'll ever meet--I give you Loki's alter ego, Tom Hiddleston."
** Creator/GuillermoDelToro, whom he worked with for ''Film/CrimsonPeak'', talked at the 2014 SDCC about how Hiddleston was the nicest guy on Earth, and how he ran counter to the stereotype that [[BeautyIsBad hot guys are bastards]].
* OneOfUs: [[invoked]]
** A big comic book fan, he wrote a piece about their impact in the ''[[http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/filmblog/2012/apr/19/avengers-assemble-tom-hiddleston-superhero Guardian]]''. He also seems to share, and thus fuel, the Loki fandom's somewhat infamous [[DracoInLeatherPants assessment of the character]], usually concluding that all the genocidal Asgardian needs is [[LoveRedeems forgiveness, self-esteem, and a lot of hugs and "I love yous"]].
** He wrote an [[http://www.comicsalliance.com/2012/10/25/loki-actor-tom-hiddleston-fan-letter-kieron-gillen-journey-into-mystery/ extremely congratulatory letter]] to the writers of ''Journey Into Mystery'', praising them for the "Kid Loki" story.

* PromotedFanboy: [[invoked]] In the 2012 [=BAFTAs=], he met Miss Piggy for an interview and was visibly excited, claiming he'd been a fan of her since his childhood. Two years later, he has a small role in ''Film/MuppetsMostWanted''.

* StarMakingRole: [[invoked]] Loki in ''Film/{{Thor}}'' and later ''Film/{{The Avengers|2012}}''.

* WhyFandomCantHaveNiceThings: Hiddleston once had a very good relationship with his fans, but some of them have gone too far and caused him to at least partially withdraw from social media, with actions including, but not limited to, camping outside his hotel when he's been filming, posing as work colleagues to meet him for their own personal reasons, linking RuleThirtyFour fanart to him (despite his repeated indications that it makes him ''very'' uncomfortable), sending death threats to women [[YokoOhNo for being in his proximity]], and so on.

Thomas William "Tom" Hiddleston (born February 9, 1981) is an English actor best known for playing Comicbook/{{Loki}} in the Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse, in the movies ''Film/{{Thor}}'', ''Film/{{The Avengers|2012}}'' and ''Film/ThorTheDarkWorld'' (a cameo filmed for ''Film/AvengersAgeOfUltron'' ended up getting cut from the final movie, but do not rule it out appearing as an extra on the Blu-Ray). From 2008 onward, he played Magnus Martinnson in Creator/TheBBC ''{{Series/Wallander}}'' adaptation, and in 2012, he starred in ''Series/TheHollowCrown'', a BBC adaptation of Creator/WilliamShakespeare's, playing Prince Hal in ''Theatre/HenryIV'' parts one and two and the titular role in ''Theatre/HenryV''. In 2014, his starring turn as ''Film/{{Coriolanus}}'' in London resulted in all the tickets released on the first day going in that first day--and people camping out for the day release ones.
