Tom and Rita celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary today

* HappilyMarried: Although heavily averted for Tom’s first wife Samantha Lewes (whom he married in 1978 and later divorced in 1987), it’s played straight for his second wife Rita Wilson, whom he’s been married to for ''32 years now.''

He's hosted ''Series/SaturdayNightLive'' ten times (his fifth time hosting, in 1990, was the episode in which the "Five Timers' Club" [a club featuring ''SNL'''s most frequent hosts] was revealed, while his most recent hosting gig in 2020 was the first episode of ''SNL'''s short-lived series, ''SNL Stays at Home'', done due to the temporary shutdown of Studio 8H due to public health concerns over the coronavirus and coming off the heels of Hanks being released from quarantine after catching the disease himself) and ''Radio/WaitWaitDontTellMe'' once to rave reviews each time. ->''So this is what bug me about todays ”GOTCHA!”-culture, there is no understanding for time, youth or history. I swear to God, we could all wake up tomorrow with everyone on Twitter going mad about ”Do you know what Tom Hank said in 1976????” (I use Tom Hanks as my example since there is no way that Tom would ACTUALLY be shown to do this)—which kind of disproves my point. There IS a way to be successful in show business today; you just need to be a living saint. And the number of performers that fit that bill is Tom and literally no one else.''
