Psychopathic Records, also known as "The Hatchet", is an independent record label founded by Music/InsaneClownPosse which specializes in the rap subgenre known as {{Horrorcore}}. Their main audience is ICP's {{Juggalo}} fanbase, so you probably won't care for what they put out unless you really like ICP. Psychopathic started in 1991, back when ICP was a struggling GangstaRap group known as Inner City Posse, and is part of the reason why Horrorcore is predominately associated with UsefulNotes/{{Detroit}}, Michigan, though the style did not originate in the city.

** Twiztid formed an imprint called Majik Records with Tom Dub, intending to focus on new talent that Twiztid discovered. Rumor has it that Tom was trying to start tension between Twiztid and Psychopathic to persuade them to leave Psychopathic. Tom eventually kept the rights to the label name when he left Psychopathic, refusing to give it to Twiztid, so this label was abandoned, and nothing was ever released from it.
** Alex Abbiss formed two new labels to focus on artists that wouldn't necessarily appeal solely to Juggalos. Both were abandoned:
*** Ax & Smash Records, a rock label whose only artist was the band Zug Izland, whose contract was transferred from Psychopathic. This label's only release was ''3:33''.
*** UMZ Entertainment, which planned to release more "urban" music, as opposed to Psychopathic's focus on horrorcore. UMZ's only release was MC Breed's ''The New Prescription''.

In addition to producing music, the label has divided into several other departments that deal with video, merchandise, and professional wrestling. Psychopathic runs its own manufacturing and distribution operations for merchandise, managing nearly 30 full-time employees. The label produces an average 10 million US$ in revenue per year, and has been continuously producing well since its creation.

An imprint, Hatchet House, was created to test-run material to see if the {{Juggalo}}s liked it enough for the artists to be on the main Psychopathic label.
