Helen [=McCrory=] (born 1968) is an English actress of Scottish and Welsh descent. As is usual for a British actor, she began on the stage. Notable plays she has been in include ''UncleVanya'', ''Theatre/TwelfthNight'', and ''AnnaKarenina''. More recently, she played Cherie Blair in ''Film/TheQueen''. She was cast as Bellatrix Lestrange for the ''Film/HarryPotter'' series, but became pregnant, so the role was transferred to Creator/HelenaBonhamCarter. Helen appeared as Bellatrix's sister Narcissa, though. She also played Lady Rosanna Calvierri in the ''Series/DoctorWho'' episode "The Vampires of Venice." Helen has also appeared in ''InterviewWithTheVampire'', ''Film/TheCountOfMonteCristo'', ''Franchise/{{Frankenstein}}'', ''WesternAnimation/FantasticMrFox'', ''Film/{{Hugo}}'', and ''Film/{{Skyfall}}''.
