* Glintz-Terry, from ''Series/TheCallOfWarr'', is horribly afraid of the trees, and gets easily flustered and scared when dealing with a stressful or upsetting situation- but he's also a dedicated soldier who will stand by the others, even if he doesn't want to.
* In the second season of ''Series/CobraKai,'' this would become Demetri's defining trait. He joined up with Miyagi-do because he didn't want to be perceived as a pussy. She fled the White Fang when it became too violent for her, she fled her team when they learned she was a Faunus, and she flees Vale when Adam threatens her friends' lives. However, when she finally stands her ground against Adam in Volume 5, it isn't until her final confrontation with Adam at the end of Volume 6 before she can put this belief to bed, after Yang reassures her that she believes Blake's promise to never run again.

* ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'': Blake believes that her biggest flaw is that she runs away from her problems. She is convinced her entire make-up is designed around this flaw because her Semblance leaves clones behind whenever she dodges or flees, which take the hits that are meant for her. She fled from her past with the terrorist White Fang and especially her obsessive, overbearing and abusive partner, Adam. However, she's always there when her school colleagues, friends and team-mates need her help, she wants to become a Huntress to make the world a better place. When Adam attacks Beacon Academy and maims Yang, Blake flees Vale and goes on the run again. This time she goes back to her roots, trying to mend bridges with her family, and doesn't begin to develop the mentality to stand her ground until the end of Volume 4 when she decides to reform the White Fang from Adam's influence.
