* DarkerAndEdgier: Believe it or not. Though still leagues less violent than the regular comic book (especially at the time the series started, when UsefulNotes/TheDarkAgeOfComicBooks was in full swing), the more relaxed standards of printed comics let the writers get away with much more than they would have in the cartoon. Some of the violence can actually be pretty cringe-inducing (like the Joker hitting a man with all his might using a mallet on the back of the head, which can kill a regular man instantly). Adult readers will be surprised.

* AdaptationalLateAppearance: In the mainstream comics, Azrael was introduced in the comics shortly before Bane made his debut. Here, he makes his appearance in ''The Adventures Continue'' long after Bane already made his animated debut and established himself in Batman's RoguesGallery.

** Straightman's backstory of someone who used to work for the law, but was brainwashed into being a particularly effective henchmen for criminals brings to mind The Flamingo. They're even both blonde, though Straightman is much, ''much'' LighterAndSofter compared to [[ImAHumanitarian Flamingo]].

Then he gets his assistant Harley Quinn to leak to a newspaper that Lamont is planning to marry Bruce, and delivers the newspaper to Harvey. One breakdown, jailbreak, attempted murder, and broken heart later, Batman asks the Joker why he caused such a horrible disaster. He said he did it because [[ButForMeItWasTuesday it was]] ''[[JustForPun Tuesday.]]''

** Kirk Langstrom/Man-Bat has gotten enough overrides in the comics, rerailments on TV, and newer overrides in later comics to make your head spin. In the comics, he was turned back into Man-Bat and seemingly died in an explosion with Romulus and Tygrus but a later issue revealed he was trapped as being Man-Bat despite surviving the explosion with the caveat that he'll live as Man-Bat for the rest of his life and never see Francine again. Later on, Kirk was lucky enough to have his tie-in DownerEnding reversed in ''TNBA'' where he had a cameo with Francine in "Chemistry" and got his happy ending back. Then years later by publication date, ''The Adventures Continue'' subjects him to yet ''another'' override during Season Three where it's revealed that he's gone back to being Man-Bat once more and that Francine considered her relationship with Kirk to be over for good.
