* ''Literature/EarthsChildren'': Jondalar's former lover Marona is still very possessive over him. When her friend Portula brings up that Jondalar was the man chosen for her [[SexAsRiteOfPassage First Rites]], Marona gets visibly annoyed. She absolutely despises Ayla because she sees her as having taken her rightful place as Jondalar's mate, including playing a nasty prank on her designed to humiliate her in public (under the pretence of befriending her).

* In the ''Franchise/{{Disgaea}}'' [[Literature/DisgaeaNovels novels]] every girl in [[Characters/DisgaeaHourOfDarkness Laharl’s]] UnwantedHarem acts like this to a certain degree, especially [[Characters/DisgaeaHourOfDarkness Flonne]].

* Eleanor from ''Literature/EleanorAndPark'' is this for her boyfriend Park, turning on the GreeneyedMonster when Park brings up the fact that he used to go out with [[ArchEnemy Tina]]. Somewhat justified by the fact that Eleanor is a victim of RedheadsAreUncool (a lot of which is Tina's doing).

** In ''The City Who Fought'', the Bethelite Rachel was one of Amos's first followers, who chose to follow him even when her father cast her out for it. She was level-headed in crisis, but had to be put into [[HumanPopsicle coldsleep]], overdosed with expired drugs and stored away in unfortunate conditions. She had a bad reaction and woke up [[HystericalWoman having screaming hysterics]], and too paranoid to take the medications that would help. Rachel becomes increasingly more deranged over the course of the book, more and more convinced that Amos is actually her fiancee and his new LoveInterest is stealing him, to the point of trying to sell everyone out to the very enemy they had been fleeing from. When she suddenly snaps out of it she's horrified, and has permanently lost Amos's good regard.

* Konosuba gives us a platonic example of this in the first light novel in the form of a clingy, jealous adventuring party. Kazuma is gamer enough to understand that professional gossip is an adventurer's lifeblood so he considers it reasonable to talk to as many other adventuring groups as he can in order to gather information. To his considerable bemusement this provokes a bad reaction within his own party because they're afraid he'll join another party and leave the three of them to their own devices. Later on in the series Megumin and Darkness develop enough feelings for him that their clingy, jealous moments are a lot less platonic then this.

* In ''Literature/GirlsKingdom'' [[ClassPrincess]] Himeko starts showing signs of becoming one after her seraph, Misaki helps save [[BizarreTasteInFood Erisu's]] restaurant and Erisu pecks her on the cheek as a reward ([[ItMakesSenseInContext and revenge]]). She gets all worked up afterwards and especially clingy with Misaki during their bath together that night, including kissing Misaki on the cheek herself and declaring that she'll do more to keep people from messing with her Misakins, especially in regard to the [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace Kokonoe twins]].

* Edward and Bella both toward each other in ''Literature/{{Twilight}}''. Jacob Black developed into something like this as well, later on (at least until [[spoiler:Renesmee]] came along...).

* In the ''Franchise/{{Disgaea}}'' [[LightNovel/DisgaeaNovels novels]] every girl in [[Characters/DisgaeaHourOfDarkness Laharl’s]] UnwantedHarem acts like this to a certain degree, especially [[Characters/DisgaeaHourOfDarkness Flonne]].
* Rose from ''LightNovel/DragonCrisis'' is this towards Ryuuji, in that, he tried to leave for three days, and she almost destroyed the room they were in at the time.

* ''LightNovel/GoodLuckNinomiyaKun'': Although she tries to deny it, Reika is very much in love with and possessive of Shungo. This is made obvious when she takes a maid job to get closer to Shungo, and her [[{{Yandere}} more ruthless]] alternate personality emerges.

* Poor Jiro from ''LightNovel/MayoChiki'' has at least 3 girls who exhibit this trope. All 3 are pretty violent as well, and often beat him up when they suspect he's getting too close to the other ones, and a 4th girl who likes to tease him about it.

* In ''LightNovel/NakaimoMyLittleSisterIsAmongThem'', several of the girls display this trope towards Shougo, primarily Konoe and Miyabi. In one hilarious incident, both girls insist on training him to "only like girls" after they see [[SweetPollyOliver Mizutani]] trying to climb on top of him in bed [[note]] Mizutani had just learned where babies come from, and was trying to "practice" it with Shougo[[/note]] and [[HoYay assuming the worst.]]

* In ''LightNovel/{{Oreshura}}'', Eita's [[ChildhoodFriendRomance childhood friend]] Chiwa does not take the news that he's dating Masuzu, the most popular girl at school, very well. Made worse by the fact that Masuzu uses BlackMail to force him to date her, and threatens to release embarrassing things he wrote in a notebook years earlier on the internet if he tries to reveal the masquerade.

* ''LightNovel/ACertainMagicalIndex'':

* ''LightNovel/TheFamiliarOfZero'': Louise and Siesta towards Saito, though Louise is much more extreme about it.

* Azaka for Mikiya in ''LightNovel/TheGardenOfSinners''. Also, a version where she fully embraces a relationship with him would be BrotherSisterIncest.

* Rias starts showing signs of this trope for a while in ''LightNovel/HighSchoolDXD''. Notably, it's very [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness out of character]] for her to do so, and a symptom of her [[ObliviousToLove strained relationship]] with Issei rather than garden-variety jealousy. [[spoiler:When Issei finally confronts long-term self-worth issues and confesses to her, she mellows out considerably, to the point of fully supporting his plans on having a harem.]]

* ''LightNovel/HowToRaiseABoringGirlfriend'':

* ''LightNovel/InfiniteStratos'' has almost all of the girls (a minimum of ''five'' as of the Anime adaptation) be jealous with whoever is with Ichika. In fact, it's the reason why Ichika [[ObfuscatingStupidity pretends to act dense]] since they have a nasty habit of getting violent when angry.
* ''LightNovel/{{Inukami}}'': Youko adores Keita and hates when he flirts with other girls. A typical event ends with him arrested for streaking because she teleported off his clothes in anger. Unusual for this trope in that she's a BattleCouple with him instead of an obstruction to another LoveInterest.
* In ''LightNovel/TheIrregularAtMagicHighSchool'', when Miyuki sees Tatsuya talking to other girls, her first reaction is to passive-aggressively ask if he's dating them (as [[PowerIncontinence snow whirls into existence around her]]). What saves her being a full-on yandere is her sincere apologies to them after Tatsuya rebukes her for being rude, and [[spoiler:the fact that (due to Tatsuya's magical abilities) her "punishment" of him for not paying her enough attention is not fatal.]] This trope fades with CharacterDevelopment.

* ''LightNovel/{{Oreimo}}'':

* The White Queen from ''LightNovel/TheUnexploredSummonBloodSign'' is possibly one of the most extreme examples in fiction. If Kyousuke, the victim of her entirely one-sided affection, so much as speaks another girl's name in front of her, she starts threatening to murder said girl. Though, unlike other examples on this page, she ''doesn't'' care if other girls flirt with Kyousuke, even if they do so in front of her. Presumably, her obsession with Kyousuke is so strong that she only cares about his opinion (or her perception of his opinion).

* ''LightNovel/IsItWrongToTryToPickUpGirlsInADungeon'' has Hestia, in which being intensely jealous of and clingy to Bell is one of her main traits. She particularly puts on a comically scary face and calls Liliruca a "thieving beast" (or a homewrecker) while clinging to Bell's arm, to which Liliruca responds by clinging to Bell's other arm.

* Catarina Claes, the main character ''LightNovel/MyNextLifeAsAVillainessAllRoutesLeadToDoom'' has a harem that consists of both male [[EvenTheGirlsWantHer and female]] members. Of all the members of her harem, Mary Hunt is by far the most aggressive of them. She absolutely can't stand when someone else has Catarina's attention and if she is within earshot of someone saying they like Catarina, she will immediately respond by declaring her admiration for Catarina is greater than anyone's. She also takes steps to keep her fiance Prince Alan Stuart from recognizing his feelings for Catarina, not wanting another rival for Catarina's affection.

* [[AloofDarkHairedGirl Kuroyukihime]] of ''Literature/AccelWorld''. She has little tolerance for any girl who is close to, or tries to get close to [[GiveGeeksAChance Haruyuki,]] the object of her affections. The quote below demonstrates it enough to veer into [[PropertyOfLove a different territory]], and they’re not an OfficialCouple yet!

* Matt's ex Liz Tivoli in ''Literature/TheAffix'' has been stalking him since he dumped her months ago, sometimes showing up on his dates. She's not violent, but he feared she would be. Unfortunately on top of her clingy ways, the [[WeirdnessMagnet Affix]] pulls her into the ongoing fray whether she wants to be involved or not.

* ''Literature/FullMetalPanic'':
** Teresa "Tessa" Testarossa is this towards Sousuke - ''big time''. She's normally a ditzy, {{Moe}} [[CuteClumsyGirl klutz]], but if anything concerns Sousuke, she gets ''very'' possessive and wily. She throws herself at him, and has been shown several times to (purposefully) sneak to where he's sleeping [[DudeShesLikeInAComa so she can molest him]], which eventually implied to result in his habit of sleeping ''under'' the bed. And as for the "jealous" part, ''TSR'' has her chewing him out and lambasting him for his HeroicBSOD and depression over being jerked away from Kaname (whom he developed one of the few human attachments he's felt for). Ironically enough, it's suggested that Sousuke was actually ''put off'' and [[NoGuyWantsToBeChased made to be more afraid of her due to her incredibly aggressive advances than if she had just lightened up]].

* ''Literature/GirlsDontHit'': Joss meets a female detective who's secretly with her partner (also a woman). She's quite jealous, easily provoked to hit Joss after she hits on her partner. Joss used it as a distraction to get away after poisoning the man they're protecting.
* ''LightNovel/GoodLuckNinomiyaKun'': Although she tries to deny it, Reika is very much in love with and possessive of Shungo. This is made obvious, when she takes a maid job to get closer to Shungo, and her [[{{Yandere}} more ruthless]] alternate personality emerges.

When Kanako comes over to give him his lunch she cooked for him(note: this is only the second time, but she's acting as if like she's done it for ages), Kyousuke angrily comes down to tell her off, but then Ayase ''and'' Kirino come down and start screaming at ''Kanako'' for coming over and giving Kyousuke a lunch. They both looked like lions!! Then when Kanako lies that Kyousuke is her boyfriend, well, Ayase, in a fit of ''jealousy'' of all things, gives Kyousuke the classic karate kick to the face.

** DefiedTrope when Sheryl reacts to Carol openly making moves on Akira despite her and him being in a FakeRelationship, by repressing the cocktail of emotions that rise up in her out of fear of being seen like this, and only reacting by giving Akira an OverlyLongHug when worried.

* Asuna in ''Literature/SwordArtOnline'' has shades of this from time to time. Somewhat understandable given the amount of girls that tend to hang around her boyfriend Kirito. One example is in episode 19 of season 2, when she finds out that the mysterious warrior challenging people to a duel wasn't a man as she envisioned, but a girl. She then gets mad at Kirito and thinks he lost on purpose because of that. Later in the Alicization arc, she gets into a brief swordfight with Alice when she enters Kirito's tent to see him without her permission, and she actually starts marking territory by referring to him as "[her] Kirito".

They refuse to talk to him and attempt to ignore him until he clears up the misunderstanding to Mirei.

* ''Literature/GirlsDontHit'': Jess meets a female detective who's secretly with her partner (also a woman). She's quite jealous, easily provoked to hit Joss after she hits on her partner. Joss used it as a distraction to get away after poisoning the man they're protecting.

* Practically all of the main female cast in ''LightNovel/{{Haganai}}'' exhibit this trope at one point or another towards Kodaka, the male protagonist. Him being or acting ObliviousToLove only makes it worse for them, and they're not too happy being in a BalancedHarem as well.

* ''LightNovel/FullMetalPanic'':
