It doesn't really catch on, though, and she's still being called "Sabretooth" by the time of ''Remnant Unknown''.

* PopCulturedBadass: Averted. While he has nothing against pop-culture, he tells [=MacAuley=] not to make all of team [=RWBY's=] nicknames references. He gives up after Blake is nicknamed [[Franchise/XMen Sabretooth]]. Ironically, the nickname [=MacAuley=] tries to give Weiss right after that is the only one that is not a reference (Though it doesn't stick, and Weiss' nickname ends up being [[WesternAnimation/Frozen2013 Elsa]], as suggested be Vahlen).

* AdultFear: After his anger subsides, it's obvious that he's terrified by the fact that he almost lost Yang, especially since they're all he has left after Raven abandoned him and Summer died.

* AdultFear: Has it even worse than Taiyang. Yang chose to lose her limbs, Blake didn't. When she tells him about XCOM, and they reach the part about Blake nearly dying during the Site Recon mission, he has to leave the room and [[INeedAFreakingDrink get a drink]], and nearly has a breakdown because of it.
