Bastard Boyfriend is no longer a trope

* BastardBoyfriend: He's abusive, controlling, manipulative, and demanding, with just enough intelligence, guile, and charm to pull it off for years. Though its unclear if he was always as bad as he is in the present, a flashback scene early on between him and Gwen shortly after the end of World Tour shows at least the potential for such a mentality.

* DomesticAbuse: The first scene of him in the main plot after the jump to college is him hitting Gwen.

An Australian who was raised in the outback who is in a relationship with Sammy. Also one of Heather's closest friends.

* GoodPeopleHaveGoodSex: Her and Sammy.
* HeightAngst: Dislikes her hight and appearance, although is able to get over this with some coaching from Heather.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: Was able to drive her foot through a street without hardly having to try to, yet characters like Brick and Duncan have more defined muscles.

Heather also has been teaching Sammy to stand up for herself more. She also hides out in Heather and Cody's dorm, and due to this, has been interacting with Gwen, showing that their pasts are not so different. She is the first one that actually challenges Gwen's worldview and makes her feel empothy for someone that's not her or Duncan.
----
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: In canon, she had suffered implied years of abuse from her sister, but in the show, she was quick to stand up to Amy. In this story, all the abuse mostly destroyed her self-esteem. Though Jasmine seems to be helping her slowly recover from that.
* AdaptationalBackstoryChange: Her and Jasmine did not meet until the season they debuted in. In this story, they had been pen pals ever since the second grade.
* AdaptationalSexuality: She and Jasmine are lesbians in a relationship.
* AdaptationalWimp: In canon, while starting out as an ExtremeDoormat to her sister Amy, she was quick to stand up to her. Here she's worse, with even bigger issues, justified in this story, as Amy had more years to destroy her self-esteem.
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: Her and Jasmine were friends much earlier in their lives, and that friendship lead to a secret relationship.
* ApologeticAttacker: When Gwen meets her, she gives Sammy a big scare, and the blonde knocks her out on self-defense. She feels so guilty that she attends to Gwen while she's unconscious, and, once she wakes up, ApologisesALot, and even offers to make her breakfast.
* ApologisesALot: As stated above, once Gwen wakes up after getting knocked out by Sammy, the blonde can't stop apologizing, to the point Gwen even thinks that her name should be 'Sorry'.
* BaldWoman: Mentioned that Amy shaved her head at one point in the past.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Sammy is undyingly loyal to all her friends; unlike her own parents and (especially) Amy, they'd all shown her kindness and basic human decency, and some, like Heather and Cody, have gone far beyond that to help her with personal issues.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: While she is an ExtremeDoormat NiceGirl, Heather is coaching her to stand up for herself, but she still doesn't know how to handle her anger. So, whenever she actually shows it, she lets all the anger explode at once, being downright terrifying.
* BerserkButton: She always backs off when she's the insulted/attacked one, but she'll not stand anyone insulting her friends.
* CutenessProximity:
** She tends to have this affect on people, to the point even Heather is "weakened" by her presence. Notably, she is one of three girls along with Dawn and Jo Cody hasn't shown a hint of perv towards at any point.
** Also she is the first person that Gwen actually has a regular conversation with aside from Duncan while in college, while up until that point, Gwen pushed away any people such as Cody and Heather when they tried to talk to her.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: She spent a LIFE TIME suffering at the hands of her demented sister Amy before Jasmine finally got the push she needed to save her from the situation.
* ExtremeDoormat: Her to Amy.
* FriendlessBackground: Before meeting Heather and Cody, her only friend was Jasmine. Jasmine said this is because Amy made her so scared of talking to other people.
* GoodPeopleHaveGoodSex: Her and Jasmine.
* GrewASpine: Thanks to Heather's coaching, she has been able to stand up for herself more than in the past.
* NamedByTheAdaptation: Just like her sister Amy, her last name is Mc Auley, named after the voice actress for both of them, Bryn Mc Auley.
* OfficialCouple: With Jasmine.
* OppositesAttract: Her and Jasmine.
* ParentalNeglect: Her parents were unable to stand up to Amy, due to their busy work Schedules and Amy coming up with lies to make sure it was Sammy who'd get in trouble for her actions.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: Despite her small size, was able to easily knock Gwen out with one single punch.
* RageBreakingPoint: Gwen's constant talking down to Cody and Heather eventually made her snap at the goth.
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: She is the tiny girl to Jasmine's huge girl.
* TookALevelInBadass: Thanks to Heather's coaching, she is learning to stand up for herself.
* TrueCompanions: Her, Jasmine, Cody and Heather.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dawn_urst.png]]
A mystic girl who has the ability to read auras. She is roommates with Zoey, and unintentionally made Gwen become roommates with Heather and Cody.
----
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: In canon her and Zoey were acquaintances. And while Zoey didn't heavily dislike her she did consider her creepy. In this story they are roommates and have been close friends since childhood.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: Heather is not sure if she's all human, thinking she could possibly be an elf or alion.
* AuraVision: Comes with being an aura reader.
* InsistentTerminology: She will clairify she is actually an aura reader.
* NamedByTheAdaptation: Her last name is Medrek, named after her voice actress Caitlynne Medrek.
* PsychicPowers: Reads auras and has used tea leaves to see into the future.
* StealthHiBye: A traidmark of her's from cannon, to the point more than one character has stated it was like she was never there to begin with when they blinked.
* TrueCompanions: Her and Zoey.

[[folder: Jo]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jo_by_qmargot_dbbk5u4.png]]
One of the resident assistants of the college dorm Heather, Cody and Gwen stay in. She is in a relationship with Brick, the other resident assistant of the same dorm. She is also friends with Heather and Cody.
----
* BadBoss: Her first scene is her yelling at some delivery people about forgetting about putting a case of soda on a truck.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She wields her authority as the dorm's Resident Assistant like a battleaxe, but takes her position seriously and doesn't turn a blind eye if something seems wrong. She'll more often than not help where she can, albeit indirectly.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: She is the • Masculine Girl to Brick's feminine boy.
* NamedByTheAdaptation: Her last name is Elliot, named after her voice actress Laurie Elliot.
* TheNicknamer: Has given several of these. So far these include: Cody is Techie, Heather is Short Stuff, Gwen is Vampira, Sugar is Bitch Kong.
* NoodleIncident: SOMETHING happened the year before Cody and Heather started attending that gave her her rodent phobia. What, however, remains a mystery.
* OfficialCouple: With Brick.
* OneOfTheBoys: When trying to help Cameron with his extreme shyness around girls, Cody points out that he has no problems with Jo, only for Cameron to counter by pointing out Jo is more of a guy than her boyfriend half the time.
* TrueCompanions: Her, Brick, Cody and Heather.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes?: She hates rodents of all types, to an almost comical degree, apparently the result of a plague-level NoodleIncident.

----
* BigOlUnibrow: He has one, and it reminds Cody of the fact Duncan used to have one in one scene.
* IconicItem: His dogtags he wears around his neck.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: He is the feminine boy to Jo's masculine girl.
* OfficialCouple: With Jo.
* TheQuietOne: Appears to talk the least out of the main friend group during conversations.

A former bubble boy who is close friends with Cody, and is roommates with Shawn. He has a crush on athlete Sky, and is learning how to drive.
----
* BlackAndNerdy: Is the smartest member of the main group of friends, and is Afro-Canadian.
* BubbleBoy: Was raised in a bubble until he was an adult.
* DeadpanSnarker: Although not often, he can have quite the sarcastic side, as shown in chapter 26.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: He has a habbit of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time do to him not having many social skills because of the way he was raised.
* OppositesAttract: He is attracted to athlete Sky.
* ParentalIssues: His mother was the only person he talked to for most of his life, which majorly limited his social skills. Although it's worth noting that unlike some of the characters in the story, he does still have a good relationship with his mother, as he's trying to learn how to drive because he told her he would do it to impress her.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: Talks like this often do to his upbringing being more books than people.
* TheSmartGuy: Is the smartest member of the main friend group, as well as the smartest person in the intire college, and possibly the intire province.
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: Wears a pare of rechargeable glasses.
* TrueCompanions: Him, Shawn, Cody and Brick.

Cameron's roommate who is also friends with Cody. He believes that a zombie Apocalypse is coming and is always prepared for it.
----
* BigEater: He mentions in Chapter 26 that he would eat a large pizza on his own if Cody and Cameron took longer than planned during Cam's driving lessons.
* CloudCuckoolander: Believes that a zombie apocolips is coming, and constantly talks about conspearicies relating to it.
* CrazyPrepared: Not only does he wear a (possibly bullet proof) coat at all times, it's loaded with almost anything you could think of in it's many pockets. He also has a number of watches with different alarms to warn him what time it is, and has even installed an ELECTRIFIED BOMB PROOF DOOR TO HIS ROOM IN HIS DORM.
* GenreSavvy: Relating to zombies, although only from 1968 onwards, dismissing the things from before that as myths.
* NamedByTheAdaptation: His last name is Bennett, named after his voice actor Zachary Bennett.
* TrueCompanions: Him, Cody, Brick and Cameron.

Dawn's roommate who is friends with Cody. She also works at the Cherry Tappers strip club as a bartender and is good with photography.
----
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: In canon Dawn and her were acquaintances. And while she didn't heavily dislike Dawn she did consider her creepy. In this story they are roommates and have been close friends since childhood.
* CoolBigSis: Mentioned that Cameron thinks of her as like an older sister.
* FriendlessBackground: Mentioned that aside from Dawn, she didn't have any friends back in her hometown. This however does change once she goes to university and is excepted into the main friend group.
* GenkiGirl: Eventually becomes her defining trait out of the group. Always cheerful and upbeat, she also happens to be a former fan of the Total Drama series.
* GirlishPigtails: In her first scene, we see her finishing her pigtails in her and Dawn's shaired room.
* HartmanHips: A few characters have commented on her's rather appreciatively.
* IconicItem: Her flower in her hair, as well as her small black choker Dawn gave to her when they were younger.
* MarshmallowHell: Gave both Cody and Heather a face full of cleavage for Heather’s birthday.
* NamedByTheAdaptation: Her last name is Mamabolo, named after her voice actress Barbara Mamabolo.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: She got annoyed and irritable when she had to take Cody and Heather to Scarlett for a private dance.
* TrueCompanions: Her, Dawn and Cody.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/thumbnail_4.jpeg]]
Gwen's delinquant boyfriend from back on Total Drama.
----
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: In canon him and Gwen broke apart because it's implied the spark between them died, with them lacking chemistry and affection at the start of All-Stars and finally breaking up. Here, their relationship has continued, and has become highly destructive, toxic, and abusive.
* AllTakeAndNoGive: His relationship with Gwen has lots of this. While she helps him out with everything, he hasn't done a thing for her.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Shows this on occasion very subtly, especially when it comes to his relationship with Gwen. The fact that he was at one time on par with Heather during TDI at manipulating and instigating all manner of mischief and misery makes it less of a surprise and more a case of played straight.
* DomesticAbuse: The first scene of him in the main plot after the jump to college is him hitting Gwen.
* NamedByTheAdaptation: His last name is Nelson, named after his voice actor Drew Nelson.
* NeverMyFault: His defining trait. It seems he has no end of excuses or reasons to give for why he is doing whatever he wants whenever he wants regardless of the consequences.
* TookALevelInJerkass: He’s gone from the self-styled bad boy with a hidden code of honor and a nice core in the Total Drama series to a manipulative bastard who beats and uses his girlfriend of several years to help him with his classwork, do all the chores for their dorm, and sexually satisfy him at least a few times a day whether she wants to or not.
* ToxicFriendInfluence: Him to Gwen.
* TrueCompanions: With Scott and Lightning.
