He apparently comes back, looking for revenge against her by framing her for the murders.

* TheGhost: he is continually mentioned throughout the entire series but his physical appearances occur only once in Episodes 6 and 7 of manga version through the very short flashbacks of Rosa and Maria. Also it seems that none of the characters (apart from obviously Rosa) has the faintest idea of who this man is, even Rudolf, Krauss, Eva and Kinzo completely ignore the identity of this person. His daughter Maria even came to believe that, since her name is the same as the character of the catholic religion, she is actually nothing more than the daughter of God because of Rosa's refusal to reveal the truth to her.

* BitchInSheepsClothing: According to Kyrie. However, it's probably a subversion since we're led to believe from Kyrie's point of view that Asumu was sly and manipulative when it came to getting Rudolf. But, considering the big revelation about Kyrie in EP 7, it calls into question as to whether or not this is just vengeful exaggeration on Kyrie's end.

* DeceasedParentsAreTheBest: She's one of the few parents in the entire series who doesn't seem to have any psychological issues or puts any unnecessary stress or standards on their child, a status that's mostly just held by Hideyoshi.
* DotingParent: According to Battler at least. The Episode 8 manga implies [[spoiler: Asumu may have known something was off, but regardless she loved Battler deeply.]]

* HappilyMarried: It seems as though Rudolf and Asumu had this kind of marriage regardless of what Kyrie says, and that he married her out of genuine love and not just obligation. The fact that he [[spoiler: went as far as to switch Asumu's stillborn with Battler leads some credence to this, though conversely he may have done it to keep his relationship with Kyrie a secret.]]
