* BloodBrothers: Save for Leo and Astra, who are real brothers, the entire team members treat each other as if they are siblings and have a strong bond towards each other. Although Z isn't part of this team, he addresses some of the older team members as "Nii-san" (big brothers) and a few of the teaching figures as "Sensei" (teachers), while he calls Mebius as his Senpai (senior).

* MythologyGag: Their introduction as a new character and bridging into a SequelHook is similar in role to Series/UltramanGeed's appearance in ''Series/UltraFightOrb''.[[note]]Of course, the "Geed" at that time was actually Belial, who's appearance was layered as Geed due to Reibatos' prediction of the future.[[/note]]
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Their actual design is straight-up different from any other Ultra's one. Most notably he has a notable nose and tattoos decorating his arms.
* ReusedCharacterDesign: Their silhouette bears similarity to Series/UltraSeven, especially with the eyes and Beam Lamp. Whether its him, someone else sharing his design or just an unrelated figure is yet to be seen. Though their actual design is more of a cross between Leo, Z Alpha Edge and Seven.
* WalkingSpoiler: Their presence is very much kept in secret, not even their debut gave us any hints to their true identity.

* CastingGag: Toshiyuki Morikawa and Kane Kosugi voices Powered in Japanese and English respectively. In ''Series/UltramanTheUltimateHero'', they portrayed and voiced Kenichi Kai, Powered's human host, which results in a common mistake with fans assuming that they reprised their role as Powered.[[note]]For reference, in ''The Ultimate Hero'', Powered was voiced by Sho Kosugi in English and Creator/AkioOhtsuka in Japanese.[[/note]]

* ContinuityNod: Zero using the Z Riser alone is the first element of ''The Absolute Conspiracy'' that would serve as a bridge into the first episode of ''Series/UltramanZ''.

A mysterious being that was captured alongside Yullian, they appeared at the very end of ''The Absolute Conspiracy''.

* RealityEnsues: The miniseries makes it clear that an inexperienced Ultra like Z fighting opponents way stronger than him would not end well. He is only still alive because he is lucky in that the Ultra League arrive in time to support them.

The original BigBad of Ultra Series media related to Franchise/UltramanZero in all of his exploits. Although Belial had long died after his last confrontation with his artificial son, Ultraman Geed, his remains plagued the entire multiverse as Devil Splinters and causing simultaneous rampage of monsters and other victims affected by the item.

* AdmiringTheAbomination: Seeing Alien Empera's massive power firsthand leaves an unhealthy impression on Belial, and helped drive his obsession with getting stronger.
* AmbitionIsEvil: Belial believes that he deserves all of the fame and glory that Ken received following the latter's victory over Alien Empera.
* AntiHero: During the Ultra War, two members of Alien Empera's army surrender to Belial and Ken, claiming that Empera had forced them into fighting. Ken is ready to show mercy, but Belial promptly shoves him aside and executes the pair. When Ken protests, Belial defends himself by bluntly insisting that they were members of the army that was invading their home.
* CantCatchUp: After Ken unlocks his potential with the Ultra Sword during his duel with Alien Empera, he starts to become more powerful than Belial himself. As the gap grows wider, Belial becomes more and more bitter.
* CastingGag: The English version of ''The Absolute Conspiracy'' has young Belial voiced by Jack Merluzzi, who voiced Zero in the previous installment, ''Series/UltraGalaxyFightNewGenerationHeroes''. At first glance it seems to be an ironic casting choice, however, this is the younger Belial were talking about, who's as brash and hotheaded as Zero was.
* DontYouDarePityMe: After a sparring session that goes out of hand, Ken offers Belial a hand up. Belial swats it aside and angrily leaves without a word.
* EntitledToHaveYou: Belial acts this way towards Marie. He doesn't take it well when she falls in love with Ken instead.
* FinishingMove: Deathcium Ray was Belial's usual attack even before his fall into darkness.
* GreenEyedMonster: Belial's descent into villainy is driven largely by jealousy of his friend Ken. Belial comes to resent Ken for growing stronger than Belial himself, being made founding commander of the Space Garrison for defeating Alien Empera, and winning the heart of Marie, [[EntitledToHaveYou who Belial thinks he deserved]].
* LaughingMad: After Belial fled the Land of Light in the aftermath of trying to steal the Plasma Spark, Absolute Tartarus appears and shows him his future (being possessed by Rayblood, his defeats at the hands of Zero, and his final death thanks to his "son" Geed). Belial can only start laughing at the realization that absolutely nothing comes of his grand ambitions.
* MakeWrongWhatOnceWentRight: Absolute Tartarus offers the younger Belial the chance to "change his fate" after showing him visions of his future defeats.
* TheSociopath: Even before his exile and subsequent merger with Rayblood, Belial is already showing early signs of a textbook sociopath -- he is still [[AmbitionIsEvil as ambitious as ever]], has little to no emotion or [[LackOfEmpathy empathy for everyone around him]], complete lack of shame at the full display of his penchant for cruelty and {{sadis|t}}m to the point of [[MurderIsTheBestSolution willing to murder without reason or second thought]], and it's finally hammered down with his [[TheResenter resentment and jealousy towards Ken]] when the latter is promoted as the Space Garrison's supreme commander and winning Marie's heart.
* StartOfDarkness: After the Great Ultra War, Belial and Ken's friendship starts to drift apart as the latter is elevated to the rank of Supreme Commander and wins Marie's heart.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Even before his exile from the Land of Light, Belial was ''never'' a good person. Aside from his growing [[{{Pride}} delusions of grandeur]], Belial has no hesitation to [[MurderIsTheBestSolution murder his enemies with little to no restraint or reason]]; best shown when he offs Aliens [[Series/UltraSeven Godola]], [[Series/ReturnOfUltraman Nackle]], and [[Series/UltramanLeo Babarue]] as they were already at Ken's mercy. Even Ken himself is shocked at the full display of his friend's depravity.
* VillainousFriendship: He has two of them; first he is very greatful to Tartarus for bestowing him a portion of his Absolutian powers and he also establish a friendship with Tregear due to their similar backgrounds.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: ''The Divergence'' depicts the time when Belial and Ken (Father of Ultra) used to be good friends and BashBrothers in their fight against Alien Empera and his armies. It also chronicles the part where Belial's StartOfDarkness begins, especially when he's revealed to have met Tartarus.

* BlueIsHeroic: Although heroic is too much of an exaggeration, this Tregear is still doubtful of the Land of Light's image as defenders, but still has his grip on his sanity before his downfall.
* ADayInTheLimelight: In addition to Belial, Tregear's StartOfDarkness is also chronicled in the second chapter of ''The Absolute Conspiracy''. Most notably in Episode 5, where he takes center stage as we see his fall from grace and Tartarus recruiting him.
** Tregear's past was already told in his personal novel, called ''Blue Shadow'', but ''The Absolute Conspiracy'' adapts some of the story's snippet into live action.
* FinishingMove: Prior to his fall, Tregear can shoot Treracium Beam.
* FutureMeScaresMe: Seeing his future self becoming an evil Ultra that eventually opposed Taro scares him into accepting Tartarus' offer to change his fate.

* NonActionGuy: PlayedForDrama. Being part of the blue tribe also means that Tregear is one of the weakest and least-adequate combatants among the Land of Light's kin. He fails to enter the Space Garrison to catch up to Taro, and their drifting relationship is the fuel for his StartOfDarkness.
* PrecisionFStrike: In the English dub, a frightened Tregear actually asks "Who the ''hell'' are you?" during his first meeting with Tartarus.
