* WouldntHitAGirl: One of Leona's most redeeming qualities is his respect for women. Justified, as he hails from the Afterglow Savannah, where the women are stronger than the men & are thus held in a higher regard. With that said one story seems to hint that this is more begrudgingly than expected as Leona openly gripes about the concept.

* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: Jack is this trope, but up to eleven.
** Unlike Leona and Ruggie, who are based on Scar and the hyenas respectively, it's not clear who he's based on. It doesn't help that he looks more wolfish than feline[[labelnote:*]](while not of the cat family, hyenas are of the Feliformia suborder, making them more closely related to lions and other cats than to canids such as wolves)[[/labelnote]] and no character like that appears in any ''The Lion King'' material.[[labelnote:*]]However, him using dark magic animations when using non-elemental attacks suggests he is at least twisted from a villainous character.[[/labelnote]]
** In addition, Jack is not from the Afterglow Savannah (where Leona and Ruggie are from), but from the Land of Pyroxene (where "flashy people"[[labelnote:*]]e.g. [[{{Narcissist}} Vil Schoenheit]] and [[PhoneaholicTeenager Cater Diamond]][[/labelnote]] live, making him stand out ''even more'' due to his down-to-earth nature).
** He is also the only one who is ChildhoodFriends with a dorm leader but doesn't share a dorm with them, let alone being their vice-leader.
** As seen below, out of the main Savanaclaw members (and even the dorm in general) Jack is the only one that wants to compete in the Magift tournament fairly and with no underhanded tactics. Jack also seems to have the strongest moral compass of himself, Leona, and Ruggie.

* ShirtlessScene: In the game, Leona sleeps in his dorm uniform at night, but in ''Episode of Octivanelle'', he sleeps shirtless, wearing only his pants. He has a very tone muscular body.

* ChildHater: Has a dislike for dealing with them and even claims to outright hate them.

* ChildHater: Claims to hate kids even though they seem to love him as shown by his interactions with his nephew, Cheka.

* ChildHater: Claims to hate kids even though they seem to love him as evident by his interactions with his nephew, Cheka.

* ChildHater: Claims to hate kids but has a clear attachment to Cheka as the other characters immediately notice and point out.

* CompositeCharacter: Instead of being twisted from a single hyena, Ruggie's based an ''all'' of them, including nameless horde.
* [[CoolBigSis Cool Big Bro]]: Jack eventually sees him as this as he respects how hard Ruggie works as Leona's helper, and wants to help him in any way he can. While Ruggie is initially put off by the admiration Jack gives him, he eventually appreciates the gesture.

* PetTheDog: One of his positive qualities are his loyalty to his community and family, much of his earnings from part-time jobs and the like will go to his savings and his community back in Sunset Savannah. He also greatly respects his grandmother and often speaks about how much she taught him in several personal stories.
