Meaning that, even if they'd only used one at a certain point, time, all the [=BroZone=] siblings would expire have eventually perished under their use, and the two Velvet and Veneer would be back to square one]].

One of the few times Veneer talks back to his sister is to remind her that this wasn't the case at all and they actually grew up rich.

* BigBad: Of ''Trolls: Band Together''. While she and her brother Veneer are a duo, Velvet is clearly the driving force, having devised the plan to capture [=BroZone=] and take their talent. Veneer contributes far less, and mainly goes along with this scheme out of loyalty to his sister, and for the various riches and awards that he gets out of it.
* BigSisterBully: An emotional example. Though she's rarely physically violent with Veneer, Velvet frequently manipulates and belittles her brother into going along with her plans, and Veneer is clearly too scared of his sister to contradict or stand up to her.

to:

* PragmaticVillainy: [[spoiler:When Branch and Poppy crash their award concert to rescue the [=BroZone=] members, Velvet and Veneer quickly get back in their car and drive away. Rather than risk raising suspicion from the public, Velvet announces that she and Veneer are literally taking the show on the road, turning the resulting car chase into a musical number. Until Veneer's confession and the pair's subsequent arrest, the rest of the city watching [[AllPartOfTheShow are none the wiser that this incident wasn't planned for the performance]].]]

* GracefulLoser: [[spoiler:Though he's initially confused when he still gets arrested, once it's pointed out to him that his HeelRealization doesn't undo the various crimes he committed, Veneer concedes it as a fair point and is taken away with a smile on his face.]]
* HeelRealization: Throughout the film, Floyd frequently tries to appeal to Veneer's better nature, telling him that he doesn't have to be submissive to Velvet and go along with her scheme. [[spoiler:During the climax, Veneer finally has a change of heart and publicly confesses to his and Velvet's crimes.]]

** Veneer is also a type of cosmetic dental treatment, where the front surface of damaged teeth is covered with porcelain caps to hide the decay underneath. This not only ties to the duo's aforementioned facade, but Veneer himself also mentions at one point that their parents were dentists.

** Veneer is a type of fine wood, and normally is used for decoration, which hints at his weak personality and how Velvet always bosses him around.
** "Veneer" also refers to something that hides something unpleasant or unwanted; just like how he and Velvet have zero talent without stealing it from trolls.
