And that's just the outside, the inside of their body is even ''weirder'', with their blood being [[AlienBlood bright green]], lungs of a similar design to birds, a [[TheVoiceless complete absence of any organ or system to emit sounds]] and a decentralized nervous system (again, similar to octopuses) which makes their body continue resisting even after the head is severed or blown-off!

* HollywoodTactics: Sometimes they'll send substantial forces to capture a minor strategic position while ignoring major ones, while other times they'll drop all subtlety and obliterate an enemy base from orbit; sometimes launching great assaults on a system that barely lacks the punch to succeeds even thought they had reinforcements nearby that they could had called to complete their forces [[spoiler:and other times they'll pull up brilliant strategies, such as the wormhole stabilizer trap, that would had wiped out a huge part of mankind's space fleet and even all but secured their victory in the war if not for the Goddess's intervention.]]

* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: Because of [[spoiler:her body modifications]] as well as her job as an infiltrator, she doesn't have any friends. All the people that know are either freaked out [[spoiler:and disgusted by her modifications]] or are simply co-workers, with the exception of Homura [[spoiler:until she disappeared]]. Asami (and to a lesser extend Ryouko) are the firsts and only people since a long time willing to become friends with her.

* BodyHorror: PlayedWith, while [[spoiler:the prehensile spine-like protrusions on her back]] are very squicky and freaks everyone, for her it's perfectly normal, since [[spoiler:she and all of her people were born with them, and found them cool since it let her attach wings to fly]]. Then when Governance finally arrived after receiving a distress call, [[spoiler:they forced the few survivors to undergo surgery and gene-fixing to become baseline humans (which is alien to them since they were born with their body modifications)]], Azrael is the only one spared that fate thanks to her wish.

Lampshaded by herself that she's often asked to introduce rookies to the matters of rogue colonies [[spoiler:because of the shock value.]]

When the Incubator came knocking, her wish was to find something to believe in again, which what got her into Church of Hope.
