An effeminate warrior with control over fire who often casually hits on the male heroes. Along with having a really outrageous appearance, Nathan is also shown to be very intelligent and observant. Nathan's company, Helios Energy, is self-owned, which also serves as Nathan's affiliate as a superhero.

* TheAce: In Season 2, Nathan’s new partnership with Sky High has let them shine just as brightly as he does, and they're on course to be crowned The Kings of Buddy Heroes along with Sky High through their combined efforts. Their business is booming, their superheroic feats are spectacular, and they're the beloved TeamMom of the entire Sternbild hero community.

* AmbiguousGenderIdentity: Statements have been made in both directions as to whether Nathan is transfeminine or in some way non-binary (including agender or bigender).

* BashBrothers: They team up with Sky High in season 2.

* CampGay: Subverted. While Nathan is incredibly campy, WordOfGod suggests that Nathan is a transgender woman who happens to be attracted to men. And double-subverted in the second season when Nathan refers to themself as a gay man.
* CampyCombat: Has electric pink hair, effeminate mannerisms, and likes to hit on male heroes. Despite this, Nathan is a superhero known as Fire Emblem who can unleash fire in flashy, flamboyant poses. Nathan was assigned male at birth, but uses feminine speech and the author suggests they consider themself "gender-free".

* CorporateSponsoredSuperhero: Unique among the core cast of heroes, Nathan is their own boss.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: ''The Rising'' reveals that Nathan had a lot of trouble in their past before becoming a hero. [[spoiler: Their youth was heavily hinted to be nothing but harassments and ostracizing by other boys in their school, suffered from major gender dysphoria, ridiculed in public and was disowned by their parents.]] Luckily, Nathan has gotten to move on from this trauma.

* TeamMom: Happy to lend a sympathetic ear to other heroes' problems. In ''Rising'', Dragon Kid says she admires Nathan because of both their strength and compassionate nature. [[spoiler: Hearing this actually breaks Nathan out of a HeroicBSOD]].
* ThrowTheDogABone: After being outclassed by Lunatic and their popularity being on the lower end of things in Season 1, Season 2 states that their partnership with Sky High has caused both to rocket in popularity even more, with Fire Emblem in particular getting more of a spotlight than Sky High.
* TookALevelInBadass: While they were competent enough in Season 1, they were firmly a low/mid-ranked hero, stuck with a power that wasn't an ideal fit for superheroics and given little opportunity to really shine. Teaming up with the on-again, off-again King of Heroes, Sky High, in Season 2 brought out the best in them, letting them show off creative power use, impeccable teamwork, and rock-solid fundamental workplace skills. They're now just as much of TheAce as their partner.

Justified since unlike her buddy she acts her age both off and on the field while Pao-Lin was extremely efficient and professional on the field with her immaturity only showing in her off hours.
