* NoSell: Any damage involving blades is automatically negated due to his Chop-Chop's power. Even Dracule Mihawk, [[TheWorldsStrongestMan greatest swordsman alive]], struggles to hurt Buggy with his sword attacks. The most he achieves is to cut off a small piece of Buggy's nose when he attacks the pirate clown whilst he's distracted talking to a subordinate.

* CoolBoat: The ''Iron Tramp''. Unique from every other Supernova's ship in that it's a reinforced, mighty steamboat.

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He does care for his crew, enough that he gives them the chance to leave after returning to the Big Top post-Marineford, saying he won't blame them for wanting to avoid the insanity to come. Also, he still cares for the rest of the Roger Pirates,

* TheDreaded: The entire "old guard", both in the Navy and the Whitebeard Pirates, are ''scared'' when they realize that Byrnndi is free.

* TheStarscream: He tries to kill Blackbeard after he fails to steal the Tremor-Tremor Fruit. It doesn't work.

Real name Gol D. Roger, Captain of the Roger Pirates and the greatest pirate to have ever lived. Though long dead, Soundbite's abilities allow him to interact with the world once again, though few are aware of it.

* ParentsAsPeople: He really does love Ace, but he's also completely aware that a lot of the suffering his son went through was because of the choices Roger made before he was born. It's the only thing he's ever truly regretted, which he confesses during the Battle of Marineford, and asks Luffy to save his son as recompense. Ace himself struggles with learning this -- while he's already disowned Roger and claimed Whitebeard as his true father, he's still touched and genuinely happy to learn that Roger truly loves him. Ultimately, in the epilogue, it's revealed that Ace has finally made peace with being Roger's son because of this, and has gotten a tattoo of his biological father's Jolly Roger on his neck to pay homage to him, suggesting that he's finally forgiven Roger for everything.

* StupidEvil: When they arrive on the (later-renamed) [[MeaningfulName World's]] [[IDontLikeTheSoundOfThatPlace End Island]] after Blackbeard fails to steal the Tremor-Tremor Fruit and start [[KillEmAll killing all the inhabitants]], it turns out that when ItWasADarkAndStormyNight that night, they destroyed nearly every potential shelter they could take refuge from the storm in.

* KillEmAll: After he's denied the Tremor-Tremor Fruit by Ace, he decides to kill everyone at Marineford in retaliation during his VillainousBreakdown.

* VillainousBreakdown: Upon losing the opportunity to gain Whitebeard's power, he completely loses his shit, going from his usual cocky demeanor to ranting, hurling out death threats, culminating in him essentially deciding to KillEmAll by nuking the entire battlefield with darkness, while screaming "destroy" over and over.

* TakeOverTheWorld: His goal twenty-two years ago until he fought and lost to Roger. In the present, he still intends to do this, only after [[KillEmAll wiping the East Blue clean of everything]] first. He still plans to do it, even after joining Blackbeard, but under his new captain, this time.

* VillainRespect: While he did kill him regardless, he respects the hell out of Byrnndi World for making a decision (to mutiny) and to go through with it to the bitter end, even though it killed him.

* ActuallyPrettyFunny: Despite his open and repeatedly-professed hatred for the Straw Hats, he breaks down laughing hysterically when Soundbite breaks out Abbot and Costello's "Who's on first?" sketch.

* RetiredOutlaw: Both of them haven't been active pirates in the last 20 years or so, but this doesn't seem to pose a problem for them.

* TeethClenchedTeamwork: On one side, he doesn't like the idea of working alongside Cross or other pirate crews, but does so thanks to Cross's plan on how easy and profitable robbing slavers can be. On the other side, Cross considers him a literal monster and would like nothing more than to see him dead but [[CantKillYouStillNeedYou realizes even a violent jerk like him can still be useful if properly directed and motivated.]] He even acknowledges that he sees Kid the same way the World Government sees Akainu: Someone they would like nothing more than to put away for their rampant destructiveness, but also someone with strength too important to get rid of.

** He later tips his hat to Nami who, against all odds, managed to steal a single Beri from him while inside his body.

* NoodleIncident: What he ''did'' at Kyuka Island managed to give shivers to the ''entire Navy''.

* EverythingsBetterWithDinosaurs: His Ancient Zoan Fruit power allows him to turn into an Allosaurus (though Cross misidentifies it as a tyrannosaurus, which admittedly is an easy mistake to make), which he uses to stand equally with Funkfreed and Urouge in the bar brawl.

* AnAxeToGrind: While he normally goes for DeviousDaggers en masse (though less than a FlechetteStorm), he makes do with an axe appropriated from a Blugori while in Impel Down.

* HumanPopsicle: He was in this state at Level 6 of Impel Down before he was freed and joined Blackbeard's crew. Byojack, who came to try rescue him, realizes that Byrnndi would have caused too much havoc and brought the entirety of Impel Down with him out of spite if he was normally chained up and behind bars.

* SpannerInTheWorks: He was directly responsible for Blackbeard and his crew surviving their fight with Magellan - apparently, Magellan was able to defeat Blackbeard, and with Shiliew crippled and dying in his cell beforehand due to Cross warning Luffy that Shiliew would give the Blackbeards the antidotes to Magellan's poisons, his original way of surviving was not a possibility. Instead, Caribou "absorbed them" into his swamp, and later released them when the poisons started making him sick - right by the antidotes they needed to survive.

* AllForNothing: The efforts of Byojack and his fellow World Pirates to break into Impel Down and free Byrrndi come to nothing after Blackbeard wipes them out. Meanwhile, Byrrndi, who doesn't even bat an eye at his brother's death, temporarily joins Blackbeard's crew — only to be murdered by his new captain within days so Blackbeard could steal his devil fruit power for himself.

* AllForNothing: The efforts of Byojack and his fellow World Pirates to break into Impel Down and free Byrrndi came as this after Blackbeard wiped them out and Byrrndi, who didn't even bat an eye of his brother's death, joined his crew

* OddFriendship: Friendship is a strong word but Bullet acknowledges Buggy who was considered as the weakest member of the Roger Pirates in the past, even speaking with him on even keel. When they meet again in the Denouement, he even speaks to Buggy in a semi-friendly manner.

* StealthInsult: When he tells his crew that he respects Brynndi like hell for choosing to follow through with his decision to mutiny even when Blackbeard had managed to "cut the lights" - well, all of the Impel Down recruits save Shiki, up until that point, were considering mutiny themselves. Essentially, he was saying he didn't respect them.

* HumanPopsicle: He was in this state at Level 6 of Impel Down before he was freed and joined Blackbeard's crew. Byojack, who came to try rescue him, realizes that Brynndi would have caused too much havoc and brought the entirety of Impel Down with him out of spite if he was normally chained up and behind bars.

* AdaptationalBadass: While he was hardly a pushover in canon, considering he was able to take down Luffy ''without'' using his Devil Fruit after Luffy had already been training on Rusukaina for some time - here, he's seen going toe to toe with ''Garp''.
* TheDreaded: The entire "old guard", both in the Navy and the Whitebeard Pirates, are ''scared'' when they realize that Byrnndi is free.

* WeHardlyKnewYe: In this story, at least - while he was the BigBad of the "3D2Y" special in the anime, here he only shows up as a HumanPopsicle in Impel Down, and then in the last chapter of Marineford Misery and the Denoument.

* IControlMyMinionsThrough: Fear, in this case - when several of his Impel Down recruits decide to try deserting, Blackbeard uses his newly stolen More-More powers to make himself larger than Sanjuan Wolf, nearly drown him, and make it ''very'' clear that [[ResignationsNotAccepted they will help him fulfill his dream, '''or else''']].
