!! No Class

Ryoka Griffin is the secondary protagonist of The Wandering Inn. She has 4th Dan in Muay Thai and is a Runner who goes barefoot whenever possible. Chapters focusing on her sometimes have an R next to them.
----
* ActionGirl: She has 4th Dan in Muay Thai, and is both a parkour and distance runner. She has gone up against an armored Silver-Rank Adventurer barehanded, and once made a Minotaur cough up blood.
* AmbiguouslyBi: When Fierre uses her HypnoticEyes on Ryoka, she internally claims not to be bisexual, but as Fierre leans in for a kiss she frantically admits that everyone's somewhere on the spectrum regarding that. Fierre sneezing kills any possible mood, and they both laugh it off.
* BadassNormal: With no Classes, Levels or Skills, Ryoka still manages to be extremely capable of both getting into, and surviving dangerous situations including Eldritch Abominations of The Winter Solstice, Dragons, and the Necromancer's armies.
* BlowYouAway: After , she gains some control over wind, making it instinctively blow more in her presence, give her consistently favorable tail-winds, and kick up a defensive dust storm. No tornadoes yet though.
* BrokenTears: After losing to Triarch in a battle of riddles for a favor. After his SuperIntelligence lets him breeze through her logic puzzles and paradoxes, she breaks down in tears, admits defeat, and begs him to save Erin anyways. Taken off guard by what he had considered a friendly competition against a semi-WorthyOpponent, he quickly agrees.
* Courier: Her job as a City Runner delivering letters and packages. Courier is the title for Runners considerred to be Gold or Named-rank. In 7.59, .
* DealWithTheDevil: Belavierr offers her a deal in order to see Ivolethe, and a Wyrm offers to tell her a prophecy about her. She .
* Determinator: She is capable of running over 80 miles at below a 4-minute-mile pace (while evading three ambushes) to deliver a message, meeting the speed qualification to be a Courier without any Classes or Skills.
* DoesNotLikeShoes: Ryoka prefers to run without shoes whenever possible, much to the confusion of several characters she meets.
* DownTheRabbitHole: The climax of Volume 7 has her .
* FairyCompanion: Ivolethe is a Winter Fairy who decides to genuinely befriend Ryoka, as she finds her interesting. Ivolethe tries to teach her the nuances of Fairy Magic, and both enjoy exchanging barbs with each other.
* Fingore: A goblin bites off her pinky and ring finger. Later, an EldritchAbomination gives her fully-functional fingers back to her... still disconnected. She promptly throws them into a campfire out of horror.
** Later, Venitra breaks several of her fingers while interrogating her about Az'kerash.
* GivingRadioToTheRomans: She is the most paranoid Otherworlder regarding doing this.
* GrinOfAudacity: As a ChallengeSeeker, she sports one while running through the High Passes while chased by Griffons, and later when fighting a Silver-Rank Adventurer bare-handed.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Coming from an admittedly self-inflicted FriendlessBackground, she is very protective of the friends she has made. The only times the normally stoic girl has had HeroicBSOD are when her friends have died, or she believes they're in immediate danger of doing so.
* IKnowYourTrueName: Since the name on her birth certificate was written in Kanji, most scrying spells don't work on her.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Though heroic and (usually) well-meaning, her pride, anti-social tendencies, and general mistrust of authority often put her at odds with others, even people who are actually trying to make friends with her. This fades somewhat after she meets Erin and her friends and begins to rely on them, but even then she's rather aloof and prone to keeping to herself.
* LeParkour: As part of her FormerTeenRebel status, she became skilled enough at Parkour to evade a lower-level [Assassin] in a Roofhopping chase.
* MouthStitchedShut: Courtesy of Belavierr after annoying the immortal [Stitch Witch] with too many questions. Made extra nasty by using near unbreakable string to do so.
* MutualEnvy: She is jealous of Erin's social ability, while Erin is jealous of her physical ability and 'adventurous' lifestyle.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: After fighting with the Horns of Hammerad (who had saved her leg from amputation a few weeks before), she has this before realizing she's at least partially being influenced by a spell.
* TheProphecy: Several fey mention that there is a potential prophecy surrounding her, but they mention it is a phrophecy of "ifs", not certainties.
* RunOrDie: Ryoka has been in this situation multiple times. Ranging from through the High Passes while being chased by the whole FoodChainOfEvil that resides there, to running through the armies of The Necromancer, to evading the entirety of Izril's Assassin's Guild.
* SamaritanRelationshipStarter: In Volume 7 she spoiler:helps save the sons of Tyrion Veltras from an assassination attempt. This starts a cycle of favors and stubbornly-perceived debts and gratitude for said favors. After a bit, Tyrion realizes he wants to court the woman who saved his children.
* SickeningCrunch: The first use of RainbowSpeak in the web serial is the bright red crunch of her leg breaking under a wagon wheel.
* SlapSlapKiss: As a , Ryoka managed to annoy all of the Knights assigned to guard her to the point where, as an apology, she offers to spar with them as an excuse for them to vent out their frustrations back on her. The following events aren’t described explicitly but apparently devolved to the point where all involved parties were in danger of being stripped off their ranks on charges of indecency.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Her taking a delivery request in the High Passes indirectly leads to the deaths of Wall Lord Ilvris' Lieutenant, Krisha's nephew, Ulrien of Griffon Hunt, and several others.
* WeirdnessMagnet: On good terms with a dragon, considered a person to watch by a legendary [Necromancer], and friends with a Winter Fairy, and a Vampire.
* WhatWouldXDo: Starts to do this with Erin Solstice after Volume 5 in an attempt to curb her self-destructive tendencies.
* WillfullyWeak: Ryoka chooses not to gain any Classes, Levels or Skills, despite their obvious advantages. Doing this is so counter-intuitive that most characters are shocked when they find out. She does this because she suspects the System imposes some kind of restriction and alteration in those who embrace it.

* KingIncognito: Flos is fond of doing this under various illusions. He tends to stick out, either by prodding his citizens with disparaging comments on his rule, or simply not understanding how not to be a [King].
* OppositeSexIdenticalTwins: Trey and Teres(sa).
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Not only is Flos an able warrior who tends to lead from the front and has killed many rivals personally, his Skills enable specialized army units to exist, and aid his entire kingdom in everything from productivity to birth rates.
* SandBlaster: Trey begins learning magic, specializing in this. After , this gets upgraded to .
* SlaveryIsASpecialKindOfEvil: The source of much of the tension between the twins revolves around Trey believing this whole-heartedly, while Teres views Flos as a SympatheticSlaveOwner who generally tries to treat people fairly.
* YoungConqueror: King Flos was this, but gave up and let his continent-spanning kingdom collapse after several of his closest friends died expanding his borders. Trey and Teres' sudden appearance "woke him up" however.

* BloodSplatteredInnocents: Geneva is thrust into a fantasy-medieval war with the goal of saving lives on the battlefield with no tools than what she can make. She is usually coated in blood from her patients, not to mention having to do triage with friends in the line. After four battles, she has severe trouble showing any emotion.
* Eagleland: A large group of Otherworlders who came through a few weeks after Geneva have a vocal majority of TooDumbToLive walking American stereotypes.
* FictionalUnitedNations: "Rules of War" exist, but are hardly enforced in Baleros. The establishment of the Red Cross Company and the United Nations Company by various Otherworlders are an effort to fix that.
* FindTheCure:
** Selphids, as a species, hope Geneva's unique knowledge and skills will help discover a treatment for "the wasting", an unspecified condition that's slowly killing them.
** Yellow Rivers is a new magical illness that The United Nations Company is working to cure.
* HarmfulHealing: The main reason a [Doctor] has any actual role in a world full of Healers are the gruesome results of healing the flesh around or over certain things, and diseases that benefit more from Healing Potions than people do.
* HealingFactor: The fact that Geneva is alive means Okasha can rampage (push the host body beyond it's normal limits at the expense of damaging muscles) much better and more often than Selphids residing in corpses.
* MundaneUtility: Okasha can burn excess fat and lightly tear Geneva's muscles, resulting in peak physical condition and a six-pack without any actual exercise.
* PowerPerversionPotential: Geneva is very uncomfortable contemplating any form of intimacy since Okasha took up residence. Okasha's offers of hormone or physical "help" notwithstanding.
* STDImmunity: Averted. Like other illnesses, sexually-transmitted diseases are actually strengthened by healing potions. The United Nations Company decides to start making and selling condoms to combat the recent outbreak of a STD called Squick "Yellow Rivers".
