A Half-Dragon Life Cleric played by Arcolf. A former ice cream truck driver turned police officer whose primary goal in life is to make other people smile. He's the friendliest member of the group by far, who always tries to resolve situations peacefully when he can.

* NeverLiveItDown: While he isn't ''technically'' the actual Orc who [[spoiler:kidnapped Nephenae]], the party (except Gibby) holds him personally responsible, and he's never once denied he had a hand in it, though it does make him uncomfortable to think about.

* OrphansOrdeal: Tannis did ''not'' have it easy growing up: he and his two siblings were orphaned at an early age, and he was so paranoid about his siblings being hurt that he became a holy terror: picking fights, being pointlessly aggressive and protective, and eventually got all three put out on the street because his bad behavior meant nobody in their right mind would adopt any of them.

* NotSoStoic: During the fight pit section where he's winning nearly every match without a scratch, he begins to show a lot more personality and clearly being a lot more standoffish and aggressive. [[spoiler:This comes back to bite him in the ass when he gets too involved in the fights and completely one-hit KO's the fightpit's champion he was supposed to take a dive for.]]

* TheComicallySerious: Virro's generally relaxed and even-toned manner of speaking sometimes results in this.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: Possibly the nicest guy in the entire series, but don't threaten his friends unless you want to get beat down with an [[ImprobableWeaponUser ice cream cone.]] Extends later when he gets lied to by a Manticore, who he threatens great vengeance upon.

* DisabilitySuperpower: Having Prince or Princess Syndrome means that you naturally have far more magical power than the average human (and that's something considering humans are a MageSpecies in this setting), and if you get diagnosed and registered young, you could potentially be put on the radar of some very powerful individuals that you wouldn't normally be able to contact who could set you up for a free ride for life. However, the passive magic that you radiate makes you a living draw for various magical creatures that want to hoard you for the power you can give them, and some unscrupulous types may even kill you to make alchemical and arcane components from your body. On top of this there are various sub-conditions of this Syndrome that can impact your life in ways you can't control;

* RichBitch: [[spoiler: Secretly the daughter of a wealthy financier who helps keep the privately funded Prince Division afloat. Her "bail money" is a secretive way of funneling funds into the division without attracting too much attention.]]

* MeaningfulName: Though not the worst offender of the dragons going after Teryn, he does have the most appropriate name since he spent days following her around.

* ColdBloodedTorture: It's never actually stated what the Silver Ancient did to Tindras for the crime of attempting to capture Teryn. However, it's bad enough that Tindras ''does not'' want to talk about it, even when pressed.

* ClosetKey: She was this to [[spoiler: Taryn who noted that being in love with a woman was about as strange as being in love with a dragon but later states she has no interest in men.]]
* DragonsPreferPrincesses: All dragons seek out princes and princesses because having one close by helps them advance in power far more quickly than they would naturally. Caustimire is no exception to this, [[spoiler: although that's not the [[InLoveWithTheMark only reason]] she wants to be near Teryn...]]

* FantasticRacism: Belonged to a draconic gang known for its anti-human sentiment before it's disillusion. [[spoiler: She grew out of it after falling for Taryn.]]
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler: She eventually gets just about everything she wanted. She gets to stay near Teryn while still getting her the benefit of Acidback's protection. However, in getting there, she almost got killed by another green dragon and had to convince Acidback she was genuine about her feelings for Teryn. If she'd failed, she likely would've been convicted of draconic espionage and been executed.]]
* LoveRedeems: [[spoiler: Her love for Taryn morphed her from a racist criminal to a much kinder person who now has a chance to go straight guarding the woman she loves.]]

* WolverineClaws: His actual ''weapon'' of choice is a Deathclaw Gauntlet that he can put to devastating use.
