* SlapSlapKiss: UpToEleven, as Nicky and Joe killed each other multiple times during the First Crusade before falling in love. By now, they think it's funny.

* RapunzelHair: She had this in ancient times. It's used to visually distinguish Andy's flashback sequences from the present day, where she has BoyishShortHair.

* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: A male variant. If you do anything to hurt Nicky, Joe is going to make it his personal mission to destroy you. Also, don't call Nicky his boyfriend.

* RaisedCatholic: Was a priest prior to, and during, the First Crusade. Although clearly not a member of the clergy anymore, Nicky's mannerisms and personality still have a bit of a priestly air. He silently prays in the helicopter before the mission in South Sudan (his black hood in this scene also bears a striking resemblance to the hood of a monk's robe), greets a curious young girl with the phrase "Peace be with you" to allay any fears she may have, and as mentioned above, always advocates for doing the right thing.

* BadassBeard: Joe sports a thick, manly beard and kicks a lot of ass -- including the curb stomp he dishes out to [[spoiler:Merrick's henchman Keane.]]

* TokenReligiousTeammate: Nile's the only member of the immortals who's shown to be religious (initially at least), specifically Christian, wearing a small cross while mentioning God early on.

** When Merrick hurts Joe in front of him, Nicky becomes crazed with anger and needs to be held back by several soldiers.
** During the fight with Keane, [[spoiler:Nicky's cool-headedness goes out the window when he sees Keane attacking Joe. He hurls himself at Keane in desperation to stop him, getting (temporarily) killed as a result.]]

* ReligiousBruiser: Prays before going into battle, and shows kindness and compassion to everyone except those who commit evil. He is also an ex-Priest from the Crusades who is the Team Sniper.

* ArchaicWeaponForAnAdvancedAge: Like all the pre-gunpowder immortals, he tends use an old bladed weapon instead of or alongside firearms -- in his case, a European longsword.

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: In contrast to Joe, who normally wears his emotions on his sleeve but goes into TranquilFury when he's ''really'' angry, Nicky is normally kind and cool-headed, but goes berserk if Joe is at risk of harm.

** During the fight with Keane, [[spoiler:Nicky's cool-headedness goes out the window when he sees Keane attacking Joe. He hurls himself at Keane in desperation to stop him, giving up any sort of combat advantage and getting (temporarily) killed as a result.]]

Inverted in the physical sense, because according to his Twitter character announcement, he's physically 42, with only Andy (age unspecified, but played by then 45-year-old Creator/CharlizeTheron) being physically older.

* RealityEnsues: She shoots herself in the foot at one point to demonstrate her immortality... then immediately curses that it ''hurts.''

* KarmicJackpot: As discovered by Copley, it seems that whenever she saves a life, said person or said person's children or grandchildren often do something that greatly benefits many people, if not all of humanity.

* SirSwearsALot: Andy swears more often and more harshly than any other character in the movie

* HeelRealization: Nicky openly disavows his ChurchMilitant past, stating that the love of his life (Joe) was of the people he'd been wrongly taught to hate. In present day, his change is so complete that he's now TheHeart and TeamMom of the group (and of course, happily coupled with Joe for a few centuries now).

* BeenThereShapedHistory: The immortals spend a hefty chunk of their time involving themselves in human conflicts, trying to help out those in need where they can. Copley's board shows the full extent of their effects on human history.

* HealingFactor: Though their immortality relies on them being able to literally come back from the dead, they do also have an impressively advanced healing factor. Nile manages to heal an open break in her arm in about a minute, and Joe survives multiple stab wounds by healing in seconds. [[spoiler: It's when a comparatively small wound is still there after an entire day that Andy realises her immortality is gone]]

* GodGuise: She was worshipped as a living goddess in antiquity.

* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Nicky is normally tranquil and kindhearted, but becomes visibly, murderously enraged when Merrick hurts Joe in front of him.
