The teams were a lot more savvy and competitive this time around focusing on winning rather than playing fair allowing for more conflict which had been largely absent in the first 2 seasons. Productions also fixed many of the length issues that plagued the first two seasons, shortening the show from 13 legs to 11, and tightening up the editing to rid the show of its most severe LeaveTheCameraRunning moments. While the show delivered on its promise to deliver the toughest ''The Amazing Race Asia'' season yet, production ignored many of the changes the original series was enacting at the time, leaving it looking like a slower paced throwback when compared to U.S. [[Characters/TheAmazingRace13 Seasons 13]] and [[Characters/TheAmazingRace14 14]]. This was particularly evident in the finale, which contained a mid-leg flight and three luck tasks that caused the winner to be decided by a large amount of luck.

* WhatAnIdiot: InUniverse. Ida said she was "gobsmacked" that they kept trying to input UsefulNotes/MahatmaGandhi's birth year as 1977, as it would put Gandhi in his 30's.

Cousins from India. In the first leg, after falling onto the last charter bus into Chiang Mai, Thailand, they ran afoul of a bad cab driver. He would get them lost twice, and despite leaving the Detour in 8th place, he took them to the wrong place, and they were both the first team eliminated, and the only team in ''The Amazing Race Asia'' to be eliminated after only running one leg.

* BornUnlucky: They finished the Detour rather quickly, while A.D. & Fuzzie and Niroo & Kapil both chose to switch Detours, but their cab driver got lost both on the way to the Detour and the Pit Stop, getting them eliminated.

* SpoiledSweet: Despite being an heiress, a title that usually goes with being a RichBitch, Tania was one of the nicest women on the season.

* HeyItsThatGuy: Invoked by Tania at the Taipei airport when she picked up a pamphlet she found with Allan Wu's picture on it, and imitated him for an impromptu Virtual Pit Stop, where "he" told them to keep racing to Hong Kong.

* LikeAnOldCouple: Self-Described by Fuzzie.

* ActionMom: Ida &They are the only team of moms to win legs and make the final leg.

* IronicBirthday: They were eliminated on Fuzzie's birthday leg.

* DeusExMachina: Despite having a large lead on Vince & Sam going into the Muscat airport in the finale, they got a ticketing agent who was so bad, they were the only team to miss the first flight, and ended up doomed to 3rd place.

Friends for 15 years from Indonesia. They made it deep into the game, staying mostly in the middle of the pack, despite Fuzzie being horribly out of shape, and refusing to move at a pace faster than a slow walk. After receiving a Marked for Elimination penalty for finishing last in leg 9, they entered the penultimate leg needing to get a half hour buffer on at least one other team. Unfortunately, the combination of four equalizers to start the leg, with a large amount of self-navigation to remote locations in Oman, caused them to remain bunched closely with the other teams. Despite being the last team in line at the canyon traverse Roadblock, a door opened for them when Sam quit the task, receiving a four-hour penalty. However, they had chosen Fuzzie to do a task heavily relying on upper body strength, and she quit as well, eliminating them in 4th place.

* LadyLooksLikeADude: They look like men but are really female.

* AmbiguousGender: Initially, they look like two guys, but in reality they're both female.

Father and son from Indonesia. They were clearly unprepared for the race, as they spent most of their time either fighting with each other, or complaining about the tasks they had to do. The spent most of the fourth leg fighting with the automatic car they were provided, something that most teams usually celebrate, dropping well into last place. Already all but eliminated, Kapil quit the Stinky Tofu Roadblock, and they ended up in 7th.

* WhyDidItHavetoBeSnakes: Heights for Bernie when she bungee jumped off Macau Tower.

** They did this again in the finale, stopping to buy sandwiches after hitting the first route marker, but this was done mostly to keep Geoff & Tisha from following them all the wya to the next clue.

* LesserOfTwoEvils: How Geoff described the Detour in leg 10, the greater being counting a bag of 1,600 limes until they got the correct number, and the lesser being searching through an entire carpet shop for a specific a specific design.
